What is your favorite kind of juice? Mine is orange & mango.

Guess I'm just not watching as much TV anymore but I haven't seen many of these. Don't have a favorite at least that's been broadcast in recent history. 20+ years ago there were some really good commercials on TV and radio too for that matter but now it's mute or change channels. Least favorite: Political ads, that asinine St. Jude's commercial when mommy goes "I'M SCARED TOO!" (but at least it seems they pulled that - there's a different one now), any feminine "freshness" or the Viva Viagra commercials. (Elvis must be spinning in his grave... unless they gave him a Cialis when he died.) And I don't give a hoot about "Little" Jimmy's Johnson, sheesh. Even Terry Bradshaw wouldn't do that commercial. I want to say grow up but there'd be an unintended pun there. At least now there's a good reason for weight gain. Going to get snacks during commercials. Bring back the cigarette commercials. They were creative and entertaining at least. Frank Bartles and Ed Jaymes, we need you now more than ever though the Betty White & Abe Vigoda Snickers commercial is not bad.

Sounds good, provogal. It made me think of this black bean and corn salad that's another good one. Black Bean and Corn Salad Dressing 1 small clove garlic Pinch salt Juice 1 1/2 limes (about 3 tablespoons) 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt (to taste) 1/4 teaspoon chili powder 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil Salad 1 cup fresh corn kernels (from about 2 ears) 1 orange bell pepper, diced 1/2 small red onion, finely chopped (about 1/4 cup) 1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil 1 (15-ounce) can black beans, drained and rinsed Kosher salt Freshly ground black pepper 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved 1 avocado, halved, seeded and diced 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro, leaves and stems Make the dressing: Smash the garlic clove, sprinkle with the pinch of salt, and, with the flat side of a large knife, mash and smear the mixture to a coarse paste. Whisk the garlic paste, lime juice, salt and chili powder together in a bowl. Gradually whisk in the olive oil, starting with a few drops and then adding the rest in a steady stream. For the salad: Cook the corn, bell pepper, and onions in the olive oil until beginning to brown over medium-high heat in a skillet. Toss in the black beans and cook until warm. Add the dressing and toss to coat evenly. Adjust seasoning with salt and pepper. Remove from the heat and gently fold in the tomatoes, avocado, and cilantro. Serve.

I drink mixed veggie juice every day, so I guess that's my favorite...not v8 but Knudsen's Very Veggie low sodium. V8 is too salty for me, but I'd prefer that in a bloody Mary over the low sodium. But the most memorably BEST juice I've ever had was tangerine juice. One of the companies (maybe Odwalla?) used to have it seasonally and it was divine. That was before there were problems with their products and they had to start pasteurizing their juices for safety. If I can find tangerine juice now, it's just not as good. And they are too dear $$ to juice myself.

Lars I hope you get to try true chestnuts. They are a pain to shell but then the delicious flesh can be used in many ways. Using them for savoury dishes including chestnut soup and chestnut stuffing for chicken. Using them for sweets is my favourite and are mainly French based. With sweets you can use the cans of slightly sweetened puree… French Imported are the best. There is Mont Blanc which is a delicious slightly sweetened chestnut puree formed like vermicelli. Also chestnut mousse. My favourite are the Marron Glace - candied chestnuts. The imported from France boxed ones are better than the ones in a jar. Also adding that you can buy Unsweetened cans of chestnut puree as well and the trick is to read the french label and not buy the wrong one. Hah! ask me how I know.

Orange-tangerine, but I did have some absolutely yummy, freshly squeezed Fuji apple juice at a homestead museum. I was hooked. You get to hold your cup under the spigot as it comes out. I hate apple juice but this was soooo good. Time to dust off the juicer and give it a go.

Right now I am hooked on blueberry juice. Had some at my folks when I visited a few weeks ago and just loved it.

Homemade tomato juice is my first choice, and then pineapple/orange (from the store, no citrus groves here!).

My favorite juice is Ruby Red grapefruit, but pineapple is a close second. I go through a lot of Ruby Red.

Old fashioned Welch's purple grape juice, but not too often. Brings back memories of going to the Forum Cafeteria as a kid. I also like white grape juice and either ice cold or hot apple cider in the fall & winter

Orange Juice is the only juice I like. I love most any fruit but I don't want them in liquid form be it juice or a *shudder* smoothie.

I like Vedge, which is an organic vegetable juice, like V8. I find V8 to salty for me. I also love freshly squeezed OJ, but only occasionally. I don't like sweet things for breakfast.
