The paparazzi is totally out of control. Did you see the crowd of scum around Britney as she was leaving the hospital?

If you know who employees these people, can't she get a restraining order against the Rag Companies? They are putting her life in danger. Also, their own.

I'd be tempted to get "stink bomb" rockets on my car that you could fire at will. OK...Maybe a water sprinkler on the roof of the car. LOL!

Got any ideas?

She voluntarily put herself in the public eye. Everyone is well aware of what price comes with being a musician/actor in exchange for the huge fortunes they make.

Plenty of musicians/actors are able to live happy productive lives out of the target of the cameras because they don't make fools of themselves. You reap what you sow, as far as I'm concerned.

I agree with Cork2win. This girl (I say that because she sure as he!! doesn't act like a grownup) is not a dummy and knows what she is doing. My opinion is she is an attention whore. I am so sick of hearing about her, that when ever her name is mentioned on TV I turn the channel. JMO Dottie

Welcome back, Rachelellen! You're in my favorite city. We've been gone almost 29 years, but it still feels like home. Go Sox! It's pretty daunting to give YOU of all people recipes -- or, I suppose, just ideas; you probably don't need actual recipes do you? Stovetop only ... I'm thinking of three basics that you can vary endlessly (I doubt you need suggestions, but I've included a few for less experienced cooks who may be reading). 1) Thin-pounded chicken breast cutlets, dipped in seasoned (paprika, salt, & pepper) flour, then sauteed in olive oil. Then remove from pan and add to pan - lemon juice, sherry or white wine, capers - mangoes, mandarin oranges, or peaches, with a little juice - mushroom and wine sauce - palm hearts in a thick port wine or marsala sauce - cranberries and a touch of maple syrup - tomatoes, onions, artichoke hearts, garlic you can go on forever; just use up whatever's in the house 2) Poached salmon. Even people who aren't wild about fish often will eat salmon. Good with a julienned vegetable saute on top and/or all kinds of sauces: chimichurri, tartar, lemon, remoulade ... or break up the fish and use it to top a salad with their favorite yummies in it. 3) Pasta with sauces (you REALLY don't need me to give you ideas for pasta sauces!) And I wouldn't be too afraid of ethnic foods. Just leave the sriracha in the cabinet for this gang. You can stir-fry their favorite ingredients. I think everyone likes dim sum (you can have a spicy dipping sauce for yourself). I bet they'd love the recipes you gave me for Indian vegetable dishes -- we sure did. I do hope the trauma is over and that you and everyone are fine.

Christmas of 2005 I volunteered to do The Dinner for 10 extended adult family members; I planned a relatively simple meal & it should have been a breeze. Christmas morning, DH's nephew decides that his vegan girlfriend can join us after all - terrific, I'm serving tenderloin & the stores are closed so where do I get vegan food for someone I've never met. SIL saved the day by bringing trophy sized shrimp for appetizers & we saved some for her entree. First crisis averted. Then everyone (except me & SIL who are scurrying like rats to get food ready) are in the greatroom/kitchen drinking, eating shrimp & opening presents & DH cuts his finger on a new pocket knife. Blood is flying & about the same time, a bowl of vinagrette gets knocked out of the frig sending an oily mess everywhere. Finally, dinner is ready & everyone is seated. I plated & served the 1st course of oyster stew with the last 2 bowls given to an elderly lady & myself. I guess most of the pepper had settled to the bottom of the pot & we got the dregs; she choked on the pepper & had a huge coughing spell. Next, the entree was put on the table & it wasn't until later that I realized that I placed a huge platter of very rare tenderloin directly in front of the vegan! In the meantime, I went to pour red wine only to find that DH & his BIL had drunk all except 1 bottle of the good stuff, leaving the rest of us with an amount equal to communion. We decided to take a break before dessert & DH went to the basement to feed the dogs while everyone was settling in the living area. We waited, & waited, & he didn't come back. Finally, I went downstairs & found out that he had passed out on the couch & was dead to the world. That was the last time I've done Christmas Dinner for a crowd. I have no plans for future Yule festivities for this bunch, either. I just remembered: on his way out, BIL missed the step down to the public sidewalk & broke a bottle of port.

We have an Outback that is OK. I like the little rack of lamb there and I have had good fried shrimp there too (no longer on the menu). I happen to think Red Lobster has the best ever tartar sauce and I have been known to stop in and get some to go when I'm frying fish at home. I also like the crab legs and the choices of side items. It's an easy,predictable place for me to dine out when I'm on a diet. (as long as I don't order anything fried because of the tartar sauce). I cannot stand Olive Garden. Same goes for Chevy's. I will only go there with a group if I have someone to share a fajita platter with. Their food is about as non Mexican as food can get.

What is a weed? One definition is 'a plant growing where it's not wanted'. I think you might be about to embark on an uphill battle - pushing rocks! I mean, if you approach your local herb nursery, you'll be confronted with thousands of plants considered by many to be weeds! Gotu kola, dandelion, stinging nettle, fennel, motherwort, horehound, mint, soapwort, coltsfoot, couchgrass, goosefoot (cleavers), horseradish, horsetail, Spanish lavender, goldenrod, comfrey, evening primrose, nasturtium, just to name a very, very few. Going one step further, any plant growing outside its native habitat can be considered a weed, especially if it has the potential to become naturalised to the detriment of indigenous species. So the vast majority of our garden vegetables and fruit, as well as ornamentals like roses and wisteria, could also be included in your weeds list. We've seen what lantana has done to our native plants. It's well within the realms of possibility that pumpkin and passionfruit and sweet potato and choko vines could one day pose a similar threat. Food for thought, so to speak. If we fought against all those being available for sale in our nurseries, we'd soon be complaining loudly enough about lack of choices! The key to buying 'weeds'therefore, is responsibility for controlling them within our own little environment - our backyards. Not everyone has the same sense of responsibility, so public education would seem to be a step towards a solution. However, you're fighting against the human propensity to defy and try to defeat Nature. If someone wants an asparagus fern in their native garden, they'll have it, come what may!

I don't think that entertainers deserve to be swarmed like that just because they chose that profession but I do think Britney asks for it, craves it actually. I don't leave the house as much as she does and I can't afford any domestic help. There is no reason she should be shopping in the middle of the night on a regular basis. How many times has she been pictured using a public bathroom (usually a gas station)? How often does a person need to use a gas station restroom when they aren't travelling away from home?

With no end of people being obcessed with the antics of these people, the tabloid press is simply feeding the insatiable need to know. Spears is making a career of being a self-destructive idiot and her "fans" want to keep up with her progress.

Though some photographers may be employees of the papers, I think that many are free-lancers, hoping to get a good picture that the tabloids'll buy.

If millions didn't buy the papers ... they wouldn't sell ... and the companies couldn't afford to pay high prices for those pics any more.

As usual Ole joyful got to the heart of the matter. Yes, it is the free-lance photogs who are mostly the culprets. I used to buy the rags thinking it was harmless reading, but after the death of Dianna, I have not bought or read any of them. If no one bought these trash publications, there wouldn't be a place to sell their photos. That said, I still think brittany knows exactly what she is doing, as they say, crazy like a fox. Why in the he!! is she and her actions on the news shows? There is an election coming up, a war going on, people whos lives are torn apart by natural disasters, missing children. Why is this twit in the NEWS??? I just don't get it. Sorry for the rant...I'll have my coffee soon. Dottie

I agree with dotmom. She loves and craves all this attention she is getting. There are other celebs out there, you don't see them doing the stupid things that this girl has done. It's just that the paperazi(sp)knows that whenever B. emerges, she will give them a picture or quote worth taking. She loves it...

I happened to look at the price of the National Enquirer in the grocery store last night. It was $3.49! I remember when those rags were under a buck. Some are actually magazines now but the National Enquirer is still a flimsy paper. For under a $1 it was a cheap guilty pleasure when I was younger but who pays $3.49 a week to read that stuff???

Our radio station had a "no Britney news day" about a month ago. They announced it several days in advance. It was so nice! No comments, no wisecracks, no updates of any kind. The next day everyone called in to say how nice it was.

And now they're going on and on about Anna Nicole Smith today and reliving how she died, and who was there and who should have done something different.

WHO CARES???????

I sure don't. I'm sick of it all.

Britney Spears is mentally ill. Britney is immature.
Britney is being manipulated by the wrong element.
I used to think that she was entirely responsible for her bizarre behavior. I don't anymore.
I don't think we should scoff and ridicule her.
I hope she gets the help and guidance that she needs.
