Get staples out...

Today and am sorta scared it sure looks like it will hurt when they pull them out!! Also on my right side I have like a knot or lump under the skin that is pretty tender.....Hopefully she will tell me when I go that it is all normal and that I am healing fine. Don't think they will check my blood today probably do that at my 6 wk check up.....Stacy

They clip the staples before they remove them. It pinches a little, but you can handle it. The lump will go away after a while.

Bagger1: Maybe the paper punch wasn't such a hot idea, but the concept of making a cut in the center of the zipper is a very good one, and I thank you for it. You are quite right that snugging the zipper on both sides of the apple stem is better than going over it with the open zipper which can admit earwigs. I don't think any insect, earwigs included, can enter the cut lower corners of the bags. Making a cut may add a few seconds to bag preparation, but it is time well spent. Bag technology may now have reached its outer limits. I can't think of anything else we could do to these bags. The very worst short-stemmed apple of all has to be the Macaoun, which has practically no stem at all. I thought about putting on footies over the branches, but it's too late now. I have lot of bags installed this year, and the apples in there are looking pretty good, with less than 3% losses from rots so far. Of course, I can get those rotten spots even without the bags. You might call some local upholstery shops and see if they have an extra staple lifter they might sell you; or, they might be able to order one when they place an order and get you a wholesale price or at least reduced shipping. I've done this for people before when they needed just a few supplies they couldn't get locally. If you need foam, this would be a good connection anyway. Hobby Lobby and Hancock's have foam, but it isn't the best quality (HL especially). If the bench is mostly decorative, it's probably fine, but otherwise it's worth it to use good materials given all the effort you're going to. You can leave the staples if there aren't many, but the time or two I've done that I've found that, Murphy's Law, there is always an old staple right in the way when I need to get the corner just so or tack down a fold ;-) Also, if you get into more complicated upholstery, you'll often want the original fabric as a guide and the more you can get off in one piece the better.

An optical drive is not an automatic feature on PCs these days. They're left off to make them cheaper, smaller/lighter (in the case of laptops) or both. At insurance companies or any big company with a lot of office workers on desktop PCs, software can be loaded and managed centrally by the IT staff over a network. They would buy drive-less PCs to save money and perhaps to make personal (non-work related) activities more difficult to do.

Ditto, the lump will go away. I've never had staples, so I can't comment on those. Hope your feeling much better by now.

Thanks guys I am still tired but I am positive that the 4 iron pills I take aday now are helping I am not tired like I have been for about thepastyear and look forward to doing thingsagain. I am glad the lump will go away ithad me concerned....Okay if the staple removal hurts..you are in trouble Gayle LOL okay going to put some laundry away and then get ready to go to the doc.....STacy

Stacy if you are really scared/worried, ask the doc to put a little Xylocaine on your stitch area before he/she pulls them out. The Xylocaine will numb the area temporarily.
When I had my surgery last summer, I had 40 stitches - they did pinch slightly but it wasn't as painful as I had imagined it to be - as many things turn out.

LOL no the Grinch made it with out any problems..LOL I got a small insecion on my belly button and then on the right side...they just have the dissolving stitches and then really low is the 17 staples. I am just putting the launry away llady and I promise this is all I have dones since getting out on saturday.
I got mine because I was having a period every other week then they tried to have me take bith control to shrink some cysts and tumors and then I bleed for a whole month and was physco crazy.....so we went with the hyster...and I think I will be glad once I get thru all this part of it and the anemia.....Stacy
