2 Small Windows, Not Centered, Curtains?

Hello,

I am hoping someone can advise on the most appropriate placement for curtain rods in my "in progress" living room. The room has two windows that, while centered on the outside of the house, are oddly placed in the inside of the house. Also, the windows are very small so I would like the curtains to open fully if possible. The problem is that the left side of one window is very close to the leaded glass doors (7 inches). Do I install the curtain rod holder the same width from the window frame on the right side of the window or should I install the holder at a greater width? If greater, would having two different widths from the frame look odd?

I have yet to determine what type of headers to put on the curtains I am making as it will depend on the width the rod holders get installed from the frame. If left at 7 inches then I will use grommets, if the extension is wider then I have more options.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.
