Thank you, thank you, everyone. I'm having a quiet day. DH has to work tonight, so I'll be hanging out at home enjoying our wonderfully cool weather. Amazingly, it's been in the 70's today, damp and a bit rainy. For Texas in August, that's just unheard of, but it's quite a relief after all the 100 degree days we've had. Oh, and I do plan on eating some chocolate tonight! lol! I appreciate all your kind wishes! Sally

I'm back now, to my "real" computer and can actually type on it. I don't know how those of you with smart phones do it. Anyway, I had a great birthday weekend up in Tahlequah, OK, working on our house. We're making slow but sure progress with the kitchen. On Saturday I went Farmers marketing, first to the one in Tahlequah, then to the one in Siloam Springs, Ark., where my sister sells knitted items and cookies, among other small baked goods. When she closed up shop, we had a fast food lunch, then headed to her friend's farm, where I got to hold a two-week old pygmy goat. Cute doesn't even begin to describe a two-week old pygmy goat! I had a blast, I'm tired, but it feels good to get work done and have some play time, also. Oh, since the kitchen was torn up, for my B-day dinner we had hot dogs, sauerkraut, and, believe it or not, DH opened up a bottle of Beaujolais, since he felt it was a celebratory time. It was a fun dinner, but I don't recommend wine with hot dogs and sauerkraut! lol! Sally

No cake for me, Annie. Don't care for it, really, not being much of a sweets gal. We did have a really yummy cup of hot, home made cocoa when we got home and cuddled in front of the fire...and I won't say it wasn't laced with anything. ;) Thanks, all!

Actually, I did celebrate all weekend, and dear Jerry made me a wonderful dinner of porcini mushroom risotto, asparagus with sweet red onion-lemon vinaigrette, a wonderful mixed salad and for desert, and chocolate cake and Blue Bell ice cream. What more can a girl ask for! Oh, fine company with his cousins, that's what.

We spent a few days up in Tahlequah, and just got back tonight. We did a little work on the house, but mostly visited with friends and watched hummingbirds fight with each other over the flowers.

Sally, if I could, I'd kick my own butt for being late with my greetings (I blame my absence on the global climate change...).

I hope your birthday was a memorable one. And your 'dear Jerry' should be all in capital letters. What a guy, and what a delicious dinner he created in your honor.

Sounds like you had a great birthday - sorry I missed it, but I haven't been here lately due to massive projects at work - one of which was coordinating a shipment of furniture to Allan Knight & Associates in Dallas.

I remember Blue Bell ice cream, and I've been to the plant in Bellville many times. It was my favorite ice cream in Texas. I've been watching hummingbird fights lately myself!
