By what I can see all other furniture matches so I'd stick with that if I were making the choice. Otherwise it could stick out drawing attention to the cable "box" sitting on it. The dark stain of the cherry more likely would camouflage that.

Depending on how thick your walls are you could build a small nook into it...

Can you post a picture of the TV wall? I'm going through this too - will wallmount new TV, need something to put DVD player (and DVDs) on/in.

How about something in metal to contrast with all the dark wood? A console type table in a pewter color echoing your bedside lamps might be nice. Painted wood, cream color or otherwise, would also be pretty. I think your instinct to get away from something matching your furniture is on target.

Thank you everyone..I will try to get a picture of that wall tomorrow. It is really just a completely blank wall with the TV mounted high up centered for optimum bedtime viewing. Closer to the baseboard are where the cords are coming out of the wall (switchplate and phone jack). I definitely going with an odd piece would be better than trying to match the furniture exactly. What is also challenging is keeping in STYLE though...many painted furnishings are more cottage-like and not sure if that will jive with the colonial bedroom furniture. ALTHOUGH...the rest of my house does have "cottagey" decor...my children's furnishings are cottage-like with beadboard detailings and painted finishes. And my family room downstairs has a large cream color country-cottage entertainment cabinet. So I just don't know which direction to go in here or where to even find the appropriate console since I am not sure of what I am searching for. I also do not want to spend a ton of money on this console either...lol

I just spotted this on Pottery Barn's website...Chloe Console...this is a picture from their site...it looks like it has simple lines and would coordinate well with my room...what do you all think?

I like that and you could store books like you suggested. Might be interesting to accent that wall with a color too, like the blue you have going on in your spread. Your room looks beautiful though so look forward to seeing what you end up with.

Thank you!! I am kind of waiting until I decide on a neutral color for the hallway before I choose a paint color for the bedroom and if I did decide to accent one wall in a different color it would probably be the wall behind the bed. I think I might order that table...it is on sale!!

I hope the color IRL goes well with your cherry - it's so hard to tell online. But I like that one better than the one that matches my end tables - it's got *two* shelves! Off to check PB website - thanks for the info!

Oh, BTW, how high is your TV mounted? Will there be room under it for the table? (have to check how high the table is)

There is definitely room for the table under my TV.... we have a really super thick pillowtop mattress so positioned the TV at the height that would allow us to view it comfortably. It is centered between the posts on our bed.

Here is a picture of the wall...right now we have the satellite box propped on the cardboard box that the TV came in. LOL I liked that chloe table from PB because it is not this big boxy thing and will give me the storage and function that I need without competing with the other large furnishings in the room. I figure I can put baskets on the lower shelf that will help conceal the wires in the background

Oh yeah, if that box is the one the TV came in you definitely have room for a 30" high table and the satellite box LOL. How wide is the TV? Will the table be wider?

I think I'm going with the unfinished one (style matches my furniture more - not as delicate legs, and less $$) OR just putting a shelf under TV - I only have 3 brackets so can't do 2 shelves but might as well use the extras I had left over from kitchen island.

The PB table looks nice with your furniture b/c it's more delicate and curvy, as long as the color is right. Good luck! Did you order it yet?

I like that table very much. How much space do you have between the end of the bed and the wall? Is the table shallow enough to give you enough of a walking path? I like to take newspaper and paste it together into the footprint (length x width) of a piece of furniture to see how it will really fit into the room.

Oh yes there is plenty of room between footboard and the wall so space is not an issue. This television is approximately 39 inches wide from end to end. I did not order the table yet;I am still mulling it over. I don't necessarily think the color of the stain has to match perfectly...growing up, my mom's house was decorated in a mixture of pieces that all worked well together. I do want to hide those wires near the baseboard though but wanted a more "open" piece here rather than a boxy closed in one. By the way the Chloe table is around 47 inches wide.

Okay well just because I like to confuse myself...lol...and also partly because I am not a furnishing design expert...I want to add these choices to the mix. All of them seem like the colors would harmonize well with the cherry bedroom set I have. I am more concerned with "styling"...so I beg you for your opinions. Which console table would work well in this bedroom???

I Like all of them but I think the curves of the Chloe work best with your bed. Plus it's the least $$ right now on sale!

If the wood colors work, I like either the Hudson or the Chloe. I am leaning toward the Chloe because it is open which is a chance from everything else in the room, but the Hudson console would hide the wires and you could just drill a couple of holes in the back if you want the cable box on a shelf. Pretty room.

I'll add another vote for the Chloe, that one seems like it would work best with your furniture. The others are very nice in and of themselves, but I don't think they'd coordinate as well.

We also have our TV mounted on the wall in our bedroom over the fireplace. Our cable box is actually in our family room along with the other cable box for the other tv family room which are hidden in our entertainment unit. When they came to wire the tv's they used an infra red eye to connect the TV in the bedroom to the cable box in the other room. No wires, no cable box, no mess, works great.

thank you all for your opinions! I like the Chloe as well..I just have to hope that I will find good baskets to put on the shelf to hide the wires! I cannot stand wires!
