I still have a 90 Maxima with approx. 250K miles (odometer intermittant) and it still runs great. Only normal wear and tear items have had to be replaced. Plenty of power still (it's fun to "race" some of the newer sports cars and beat or at least keep up with them and watch their faces - I just laugh at them and pi** them off). Paint and trim and interior still look really good. Everything works. Gas could be going up to $4 in near future, so keep that in mind. I still get about 29 mph on hwy (checked when odometer is working) - not sure about city. Also not sure about 2000/2001 year for either model. Overall, I think they've both done well for all years. My timing belt change interval is 60K miles. Can't remember it it has the "interference" type engine that can be damaged if timing belt breaks (there's a web site of a timing belt manufacturer that lists this for all car - Gates Rubber, maybe?). I usually do the water pump at same time since they have it opened up - about $400 here to have independent mechanic do both). Good luck on your purchase, whatever you buy. I'm hoping to get another year or two from mine, before buying another good reliable used vehicle.

Inspectors have a lot of power when it comes to these things. Most building codes are written with a blurb that says "or as approved by inspector", meaning they have the power to override codes as they see fit. If your permit is 2 years old it may have expired, often the permit will state that the work has to be completed within a certain timeframe or it expires. If it's expired, you don't really have a legal leg to stand on. And even if you do, you'll quickly exceed your 4k deck investment in legal fees if you try and fight it. I would recommend meeting with the inspector (and your PB) onsite and discussing it with him. Find out beforehand if your PB is willing to write the inspector a letter expressing that the deck work is secure and guaranteed. Have your approved drawings and permit handy for the inspector's review and offer him the letter to appease his concerns. Inspectors don't care about how much you've spent or how much it will cost you to repair it, so I'd avoid that angle. They are concerned mainly about safety/ welfare. If you and the PB can convince him that what is installed is safe and secure then he will probably back down. Whatever you do, do not get in the inspector's face and make threats! And don't go over his head unless the meeting doesn't go well. If it goes poorly, politely suggest to him that you'd like to meet with his boss because it's that important to you (IE, don't blindside him). Good luck.

Hi! First, thanks for loving on my new countertops. I absolutely adore them and don't even think the photos do it justice because you can't appreciate the colors or the movement fully unless you're standing here. Anyway, hopefully my experience may help you because I say definitively SWITCH to the stone you loved. I looked for - no exaggeration - one full year for the perfect Juparana Bordeaux or Crema Bordeaux. I wanted the Bordeaux coloring with the variation of the darker colors and movement of veins. I looked at 5 different fabricators and 6 stone distributors all over the state of MD. I finally found one the week before I needed to pick it and sort of decided to settle on it. It didn't have the movement I liked but the color composition was better than most I had seen. And then I saw that Typhoon Bordeaux Green two rows over. And that was that. All that time I invested in the other stone I threw in the figurative trash and switched to the typhoon because I could imagine the island with that movement and color and knew it would be something I would love to look at every single day. Go back to the granite you love. It's easiest if they will locate it for you, but your fabricator should be able to give you a list of stone distributors from which they get (or can get) slabs. Ask for that list and then call them and ask if they have the Netuno and if you can come see it. The fabricator can then have that brought to them to cut for you. Of the zillion decisions I've made of our house reno, switching granites one week before drop-dead-decision day is the one for which I thank my lucky stars. For some of us, it's like a wedding dress... Say yes to the Netuno Bordeaux!

If you lived in LA, you would know that this house is decorated in the "Armenian Mediterranean" style, but they didn't change all the floors to marble and travertine. There is a large population of Armenians in LA and the Armenian developers love to build with lots of stone and glitz. Many Korean buyers also seem to find the "Armenian Mediterranean" homes appealing. It is an interesting real estate market!

What I don't follow is why they wanted permanent ownership of all things posted on the site - was it for compiling personal information about people or ? If it was for that reason, wouldn't you think twice about using Facebook anyway?

Update on Terms

A couple of weeks ago, we revised our terms of use hoping to clarify some parts for our users. Over the past couple of days, we received a lot of questions and comments about the changes and what they mean for people and their information. Based on this feedback, we have decided to return to our previous terms of use while we resolve the issues that people have raised.

Many of us at Facebook spent most of today discussing how best to move forward. One approach would have been to quickly amend the new terms with new language to clarify our positions further. Another approach was simply to revert to our old terms while we begin working on our next version. As we thought through this, we reached out to respected organizations to get their input.

Going forward, we've decided to take a new approach towards developing our terms. We concluded that returning to our previous terms was the right thing for now. As I said yesterday, we think that a lot of the language in our terms is overly formal and protective so we don't plan to leave it there for long.

More than 175 million people use Facebook. If it were a country, it would be the sixth most populated country in the world. Our terms aren't just a document that protect our rights; it's the governing document for how the service is used by everyone across the world. Given its importance, we need to make sure the terms reflect the principles and values of the people using the service.

Our next version will be a substantial revision from where we are now. It will reflect the principles I described yesterday around how people share and control their information, and it will be written clearly in language everyone can understand. Since this will be the governing document that we'll all live by, Facebook users will have a lot of input in crafting these terms.

You have my commitment that we'll do all of these things, but in order to do them right it will take a little bit of time. We expect to complete this in the next few weeks. In the meantime, we've changed the terms back to what existed before the February 4th change, which was what most people asked us for and was the recommendation of the outside experts we consulted.

I just joined facebook a few days ago to help my neighbor find her grandkids (they are with their father and his girlfriend) She has very little contact with them and thought she could track them this way. Anyway I have had a myspace account for about a year or more and love it for keeping in touch with my many neices and friends that have moved away. I found facebook to be comfusing and messy looking. Is it that way or just me? Myspace seems to be more organized and cleaned up....I know just where to go on there. My navigation issues with Facebook are keeping me from enjoying it. Is it me or do you find it "messy"? for lack of a better word....`This is the first I've heard of their terms and wanting to own all content....doesn't sound good.
