Thank you so much for all your birthday greetings. I had a nice day even if I did have to work yesterday.

Rather than cook we went out to The Masthead Restaurant in Cowichan Bay for dinner. Sorry no pictures. The restaurant is dark and I would have had to use a flash which I hate doing. Moe started with scallops with a risotto and I had Cowichan Bay Duck Confit with Potato Gnocchi. Main courses were Duck breast for Moe and I had Beef Tenderloin with a Bearnaise sauce. Both meats were cooked medium rare. I'd like to tell you that dinner was wonderful but it was mediocre at best. Nothing terrible wrong with it but nothing exciting either. And service was sadly lacking too. Although to be fair they were busy with a couple of large tables. Moe said he could have had much better at home, which I guess is why we hardly ever go out for dinner.

I heard from Matt yesterday and he is hoping to come up this weekend. Haven't seen him for a few weeks so we are looking forward to that.
