Thanks so much for the wonderful birthday greetings! I appreciate each and every one of you. This is a wonderful community of gardeners and truly do think of you as friends. My evening will be spent cooking, which is ok, because I love preparing Thanksgiving dinner. I always have. :-) I am taking a couple days vacation next week to decorate for Christmas, finish a couple of projects and work on my cards for the holiday card exchange. Love this time of year! "Have a great day and don't worry about me slaving away at the sewing machine. ; )" LOL, Diana!! Thanks again, everyone. Hugs Marilyn

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! What a nice surprise to find this posting this morning. This is such a kind and generous group, not to mention a great group of talented and creative people. You've inspired me to add more fall interest to my garden, plant poppies, nigella, nicotiana and sweet peas ( for the first time this year!) add more roses, and so much more. You all are simply the best! Marilyn

I see Jessy beat me to the 'puter this morning, obviously neither of us were getting much sleep! I'm finally feeling much better, the sinus infections just hung on until the doc mixed my antibiotic with prednisone. I can finally breathe normally, but it shot my sleep pattern to he!! Work is crazy right now, ramping up to a big fundraiser. I have lots of talented parents right now, but I still need to be everywhere and oversee everyone! Invitations hit the mail yesterday, so that chore is over, but the auction catalogue, prizes, tribute journal, honoree speeches, decor etc are looming. Plus the boss is taking off for almost 3 weeks before! She's incredibly helpful,so that isn't great timing! DSIL is off to Chicago yesterday for what looks like a longish job. That means DD and DGS's will follow soon. At least this time the film is in this country! DGS Mason was one yesterday! i missed being with him due to work and the late demands of the job. Sunday DD is going ahead with the plans for a little afternoon party for the family and a couple of close friends. That shoudl be fine. Both boys have had sinus infections too...gee wonder who gave it to me? LOL Dinner tonight? I have no idea! Last night was steak, grilled asparagus and some other assorted veggies. I munched all day with our volunteer parents so I really shouldn't have eaten at all, but I think DH would disagree! Anyway, at this hour I'll just clink with my synthroid pill and water. Not very exciting, eh? Good weekend to all!

Well, I suppose all of those who aren't sleeping could have a party until Diana gets here.

Happy Birthday, Diana, you skinny sexy thing. I hope you're out celebrating and showing off your gorgeous figure someplace warm, exotic, fun.

For once, I'm not late.

Diana, it's your party!

So feel free to sip large quantities of Margaritas by the poolside; unleash your inner imp, and even cry ... if you want to.

Wowie, completely missed this! A belated thanks for the birthday wishes (you too Doris, you lurker, you). I was in Seattle for four days beginning on my birthday. Had the best time. It was beautiful, the weather was great (except for that freakish snowstorm on Mt. Rainier amid all the blooming wildflowers--a little weird), the food was amazing, the burlesque show was, oh, wait, this is a cooking forum, can't go into that. Went to Pike's Place Market three times, Salumi, Dahlia Lounge, Beecher's Cheese, Piroshky Piroshky and more too numerous to mention. Quite a way to spend the birthday before the big one (yeah, 50 is breathing down my neck). And finally, at my advanced age, got a crack at Guitar Hero. I suck.

So today for no special reason except that we're idiots, we are having an end o' summer bbq for 40 people. Yes, that's right, big beautiful butts on the barbie (but not on Diana!). I actually smoked four humongous pork butts yesterday... we were up at midnight pulling them. I made potato salad, cole slaw, beans... I'm about to make some grilled ratatouille and already baked some world peace cookies earlier this morning. I've got three salmon halves and Ruthanna's tomato-basil butter for that. And we're having make your own sundaes along with the cookies. So the cooking forum is with me all day!

Thanks for the birthday wishes!

Happy Birthday Diana (Dlundin)
