I bought an 'adjustable' curved shower rod, online. It's composed of 2 curved pieces, one slides inside the other. It's terrible - the diameters of the 2 pipes/rods are very different. There is enough room for the rod to move, and the rings don't slide over the junction. I'm guessing you can buy a solid piece, and cut it to fit. I doubt 43" will be a problem. Look for some curved shower rods online, and then research the manufacturers. Most will have details about installation, more than retailers' sites. Pick up the phone and call the manufacturer if you still have probs.

You might think about checking into the ceiling mounted rracks. You might get more room. Also some of them are flexible and can be bent by hand which might help you. I found some of these tracks while searching for a track for my shower/tub where I wanted to enclose one side and part of the second, then make an "s" and tuck the rod away into a cubby. One company is curtaintracks.com. I don't see why you couldn't adapt for your purpose as well.

DedTired - It came from Signature Hardware; I had read some negative reports about Moen so I didn't choose them. It has a five-year warranty. I have stainless rings, with the round bearings. Perhaps I should check with them to see if I need to use plastic rings. Moni - I love that curtain. Fun2BHere - I think I'd better pass on the gymnastics, too. The brackets may be strong, but the screws can withstand only so much stress!
