Awww, that's sweet. I had a great aunt who died exactly 3 months to the day after her husband did. And my granparents died within about 4-5 months of each other. It must be so hard to go on alone when you've been with someone that many years.

They were clients of mine, Sleeperblues, and they were adorable.

When I was a child, we had a middle-aged neighbor and his twin, who trained horses. One twin was killed during a training session (a horse kicked him in the head), and his twin died the following week - he just couldn't live without his other half.

My mother died very expectantly at age 48. My step-father, a man who wrote her love letters every day, was found dead the next day, the victim of a heart attack, but I think it was a broken heart.

When my grandmother died, my grandfather told me that he could not live without her. He died 5 weeks later of a heart attack. They had been married for 64 years.

My sister died and her DH was so sad. He died the morning of her funeral from a heart attack. I had spoken to him the night before and all he did was cry on the phone. It was such a shock to us all.

These stories are soooo sad.

My Godparents never had children, just each other. He loved her so much he quit drinking for her, and he built her a home from the ground up. She died in June one year, and he refused to ever sleep in their bedroom without her. Instead, he moved into a storage area off the kitchen. He followed her in November the same year. They said it was a heart attack. But I know his heart was broken.
