Re:Ann T's White Chocolate Cream Cheese Raspberry Tart

Someone referenced this recipe recently and I found it on Ann's blog. My computer isn't allowing me to link to the Comments section where this question might be answered.

If I read correctly, the crust recipe is for one tart crust but the filling recipe is for 2 tarts. Is that correct? If so, can I just halve the recipe for the filling if I'm only going to make one tart?

Or have I just misread the notes? Thanks - am planning to make this for company dinner tomorrow.

Amck, You're right. I just half the filling recipe.

Amck, Yes the filling makes enough for two. I don't see any reason why you can't half the filling recipe. Or the other option is to make a second crust and make two tarts. One with raspberries and one without.

I am so making this on Friday for our out of town guest that will be here for the weekend. I've been thinking of what dessert to make and here it is! I thought about Molten Lava's or a flourless chocolate cake but this is way better for so many reasons. I can make it on Friday! Thanks for the clarification on the dough.

I found the bottom layer! I bought some Lorna Doones and slathered on the choco-cheese. Wow! There is no sour taste--just creamy chocolate and the still-too-sweet cookie. Too sweet and chocolate? I can deal with that easily. However, I don't think I will allow myself to buy these ingredients again because I am certain they are terrible for my cholesterol and blood sugar. The only thing worse in this picture is my will power.

Never heard of the vodka to help with texture. I'll have to try that. I make a matcha green tea one using coconut milk. I made ice cream sandwiches last summer using a gluten-free chocolate wafer cookie. (added a bit of mint to the 'cream'. ) It is a good fruit year so far. No fruit at all last year. Cherry tree is full. Raspberries and blueberries should be great. A few weeks ago made a raspberry(frozen) / rhubarb tart and tucked chopped dark chocolate all around the crust edge. Love that combination. (i don't usually do no dairy/gluten-free but did it for a friend) I use vodka in my homemade bug spray so just bought the cheapest that was in a glass container. Wanted glass since it will be on the shelf forever.

I put off looking at this thread till we got a quiet Fri afternoon, and yes that is almost orgasmic. In my distant past I also made chocolate cups by dipping the bottom half of inflated balloons into melted chocolate - color and flavor of choice. You let it harden into a tulip cup shape then pop the balloon eh voila! The cups Marilyn describes really aren't hard to make, just a bit fiddly. This all reminds me I have raspberries in the fridge here at work to eat up...sadly with only plain yoghurt. Healthier but somehow a little flat seeming after that picure. Oh sigh...Maureen

Ann - that tart was wonderful! My husband, who is not one to overstate, said it was so good he wanted to cry LOL!

It is not only one of the best tasting desserts I've ever made, but one of the prettiest. Clearly a caloric indulgence, but worth it. I'll add a couple more miles to my walk for this one!

Ann T, I love your tart also. I made one last night and half of it's gone already. I only shared 1 small piece with my son. That's why I never make desert. Since I'm the one with a sweet tooth I end up eating most of it.
