How do I fix grainy cream cheese frosting???
Comments (11)sooz, I know people complain about this on a couple of cake decorating websites that I frequent, and the consensus is that it's the powdered sugar, or the cornstarch in the powdered sugar, it seems to happen with a lot of different brands. The consensus, unfortunately, also seems to be that it can't be fixed completely, although a few people said that adding more cream cheese helped and one said she added cherry preserves and used the stuff as a cupcake filling that the preserves helped the texture too. Some said it got better when they re-whipped the frosting, they were blaming tiny little lumps of cornstarch. And it happened even when the powdered sugar was sifted, so that didn't appear to be of any help either. Good luck! Annie...See MoreLeftover cream cheese-like cheese
Comments (14)Our peaches have to be almost a pound each! HUGE! Last year was our first year with the peach tree. The former owners didn't prune or cull, so we had so many peaches (record rain year after 4 year drought) the branches were breaking. We had the tree properly pruned this year and culled a lot of the baby peaches and this years crop is less peaches, but bigger and sweeter!...See MoreCream Cheese Brandy Cherry Balls Question
Comments (25)LOL, Carol, I did mean 7-up. It had brandy in it, so definitely not a Shirley Temple, which has no alcohol at all. The "ladies" in the family also used the fruit from the Cherry Bounce Aunt Ellen made to mix with 7-Up, they called them "spritzers" and I thought it sounded so sophisticated! Kate, they are a little messy to deal with but they all get eaten and my oldest daughter loves them. Because she's celiac, there are many holiday treats she doesn't get to have, so I always make these. And, since she's not supposed to have alcohol because of her seizure medications, double bonus on the lack of brandy (although I doubt that small amount would be a problem). Poor Mother, though, now there's no cherry brandy for her 7-Up. (grin) Annie...See MoreI have an 8oz block of cream cheese. What to make? Sweet or savory?

In small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese. Add rest of ingredients, then stir in crawfish. Cover and refrigerate for 2 hours. (even better the next day) Serve with assorted crackers. From Taste of Home I have sometimes added chopped cooked bacon and changed some of the green bell pepper for jalapeno....See More- 17 years ago
