I am sad to say Rachel looks like she needs a dr's intervention.
My opinion she went too far....Her BMI has to be dangerously low.
Bob and Jillians faces when they saw her was awe... in a not-so-good way.

I think Rachel looks awful! She lost way too much weight and looks almost anorexic to me. I thought everyone else looked great and did a really good job at home. I hope they are able to maintain now that they will be out of the spotlight. Maintenance is the hardest part. And I hope Rachel puts on about 20 pounds.

I was thinking at least 10 pounds, but more like 15 pounds for Rachel. I didn't want to be too "leading" when I asked about this. I really wanted to know what others thought and it really bothered me she lost too much, as it overshadows the work those who lost a healthy amount did and the healthy way they did it. I still want to laud those who did so well. I sort of saw it as her competitive streak winning out, that is, winning at all costs. I hope such is not the case.

I think Rachel lost too much also. Her face looked drawn. DH thought she looked sick.

This show is why I came to visit the KT today ... wanted to see if anyone posted on it. I've only watched the show a few times over the years and last night was one of the times.

I agree, Rachel was under weight and probably on the road to disaster or disappointment if she gains any weight back. But she was definitely in it to win it. Money can be a big motivator.

Bobby, oh my, what a cutie ... though his whole demeanor changed when he didn't win.

I have a question ... how long are they home and on their own before they come back for the final weigh in?

The only answer I could find said 30 days inbetween final fimling and the finale.

Last night was the first time I'd seen the show, so I wasn't familiar with any of the people. But I was hoping the winner would be the last guy to get weighed--the one whose wife had died, I think. I just thought Rachel looked gaunt and unhealthy.

They all were amazing. The guys looked so good. Rachel is very competitive and OCD. She was determined to win. When I saw her, I almost gasped. I thought she looked like Karen Carpenter and that's not a good thing. She needs to be around 115 -120 or so.

I'm her height and I was so small at 112, a zero didn't fit me (and when Daddy hugged me, he said, you're too small! the only time he's mentioned my weight). Right about 116-120 is a good weight for her height. Yes, I flashed back to Karen Carpenter, now that you said that. Gaunt! and scary.

I don't watch that program, but caught some videos of the results on the morning news. I was horrified. I hope that there's enough backlash that changes are made so that that cannot happen again. I pray that medical professionals are monitoring these 'biggest losers'.

I havent watched the show in a few years because I think it does a disservice to the general public and is very unrealistic. These people are eating 1,000-1200 calories a day and exercising 6-8 hours a day. They are at the ranch for around 16 weeks and then I think they are home for 2-3 months before the finale. I did hear Rachel interviewed on tv and she lost 155 lbs in 7 months(which would mean 4 mos at the ranch and 3 at home) ...that's an AVERAGE of 22 lbs. a month. Even Dr. Oz came out and said it is unhealthy to lose at the pace they do....and all his show seems to be about now is the latest weight loss diets/gimmicks.

When you see people losing 12,15, 17 lbs in a week and then you get on the scale and see 1 lb, it makes YOU feel like the biggest loser..in that, how come you only lost a lb.?

There's no way these people can keep up these routines when they return to their normal lives and are working again so of course they put weight back on.

I also read an article a few years ago that what they don't show you is all the injuries they incur because they are pushed so hard from the get-go. You cant take a sedentary 300 lb person and expect them to walk a mile first time out or do 45 minutes at 3.5 on the treadmill, etc. without developing knee, hip and other injuries.

I don't find the show inspiring at all because it is so unrealistic.

I have watched this show off and on for a few years. What do these contestants do about work?? Do they quit, take a leave of absence? I always get a kick out of the contestants that are SO emotional about their families and how much they miss them. I have a husband who travels constantly and I don't think either one of us has made such a fuss. Is it the editing?

I have always felt that The Biggest Loser promoted an unhealthy and unrealistic way to lose weight. I do not watch the show for that purpose. I did see pictures of Rachel and do think she looks way too thin for her height and frame, plus her BMI numbers. From what I have read, she was a competitive swimmer prior to her weight gain. Hopefully, she will find a healthy balance both emotionally and physically in maintaining her weight.

I did see a clip of the expressions on Bob and Jillian's faces. It was a look of shock, but not in a good way.

The premise of the show is to compete for the title of biggest loser. Reality tv=Shock value. Maybe (hopefully) the show will re-evaluate before something awful happens to someone.

Matti, that's what I thought, too. I think that their first reaction was, "Uh oh!"

When my husband passed away..I lost over half my weight in just a few months. Since then I have lost another 25 pounds. I call it my grief diet. One that no one wants to be on.

As a rule when one loses that much weight you see a lot of unsightly loose skin...did not see that last night...what happened to it..surgery to remove it?....

I think Rachel lost that much weight to assure herself a win.
She was always very competitive.
Hopefully she will not remain exercise anorexic after the competition.
I thought David and Bobby looked great.

I read somewhere that Rachel lost an additional 42 pounds after the filming stopped, so the live finale was when everyone saw her again for the first time. No wonder Bob and Jillian looked so shocked!

this is the first time I've been frighten for a contestant....where in the world were all those drs now that she's unhealthy thin??

frankly I like the other weight loss show, with the trainer and 1 whole year for the person to get to certain guielines. then THEY show the surgery to get rid of the excess belly skin and the flabby under arms..(they have to meet a certain criteria to have it)
