Joran van der Sloot has supposedly told someone that he was with Natalie when she "just" died. He got scared and had a friend help him dump her body in the ocean.

Now, I'm thinking that maybe she had voluntarily drank several drinks and that Joran may have "spiked" her drink with Ecstasy or the Date Rape Drug.

Whatever happened...He knows the truth. Hopefully, it will all materialize.

That's what I think happened...but, I also think this report is just a rumor

From what I'm hearing, I don't think it's a rumor at all.

The reporter Joran attacked with the wine, has this all on tape. Reports are, he got someone to get close to Joran, who was wearing a wire--assumptions are it may have been a woman.

But according to the report I saw, Beth has viewed the tape about a week ago, and is in shock. The prosecutor has already put in a request that the case be reopened, a judge will be reviewing this new evidence in the next day or 2, and if it's credible, will be issuing an order for Joran's return to Aruba. The tape will be shown tomorrow evening on a Dutch show.

Sounds as though there is something to this.

Oh, and Joran's lawyer was scrambling, starting to suggest that the tape was possibly spliced, altered--when Joran made a statement to the press that he DID make these comments to someone he thought was a friend, but he was lying. Now his lawyer has got to be pulling out his hair--Joran just legitimized the tape.

I hope the family finally gets some answers, and is able to put this behind them. So very sad that they've never gotten to find out what happened nor to bury their daughter properly.

"Now I know why I'm for the death penalty!" I've always been in favor of the death penalty, too, but when I really think about it, I think putting creeps like him to death is too good for them. Look at it this way -- it costs the taxpayers in the United States a fortune to keep someone on death row until their ultimate execution. The constant legal appeals, hearings, court appearances involve attorneys, paid for at taxpayers' expense. Extra guards, at taxpayers' expense, to keep watch to make sure they don't commit suicide. Etc., etc., etc. It would be much less expensive to keep them imprisoned for life, without any possibility of parole. Not much of an opportunity to file appeals forever and ever and on and on. Keep them in the general population where they can become another prisoner's *itch and get into fights and beaten up regularly. Let 'em suffer. And let them know, as Lynn D said, that they'll never breathe another breath as a free man. Oh, and regular torture treatments by the guards would be ok, too. :-)

i watched the entire 20/20 show as well. what a creep. total disrespect and disregard for human life. he made a comment about "he couldn't believe this was happening to him". what an azz. what made me sicker, and i realize everyone has rights, but when they interviewed his sleeze of a lawyer, who will find every loophole he can get through to make a case for his killer client. the mother said she long ago realized her daughter wasn't coming back, what she needed was to finally know. as of reviewing that tape, she got the closer, albeit no body to bury, that she needed. she showed great courage while watching that video and she was right when she said that the world will be this kid's jury. everyone knows, based on what was aired, what a disgusting excuse of a man he is. the mother wouldn't do herself any good to hold on to hatred for this boy, what good would that do for her health and the memory of her daughter. but to have to sit through that listening to how this boy talked about her daughter, so very sad. i like to believe in what goes around comes around. just hope his is a little more painful and drawn out. maryanne

I don't care if it has been de-bunked by Snopes or any other source. I think it is a great idea to share such stories even if they are completely fabricated. Too many people walk around in a fog, completely oblivious to what is going on around them. Now that the "story" is out there, even if it is not based in fact, at least not yet, it might give some nare-do-well's an idea. Some of the kids in my neighborhood grwoing up would play the game where they would put a purse attached to a string alongside the road and would yank the string when a sucker would stop to check it out. That was all in fun but it proves people will stop for such ploys. Ted Bundy used a fake cast to lure one of his victims and claimed to have a stalled car to lure another. I don't promote paranoia, but being aware of your surroundings and being suspicious is always the right approach. I can think of several occassions where that approach saved me from theft at best and a beating at worse. Not exactly on-topic, but about a year ago we had an incident near Columbia where a woman was driving her normal commute to work very early in the morning. The road passed a train track with a siding for an industrial plant. Workers off-loading a poisonous gas, I believe it was chlorine gas, messed up and released a very large cloud of gas. The woman, probably thinking it was fog, drove through it. The noxious gas choked off the oxygen supply to her car and her car stalled and coasted to a stop. She was found dead a few feet away from the car as she apparently tried to run out of the cloud. Another driver, coming from the opposite direction, saw the cloud, saw the tanker car, became suspicious and used his car to block the road and called 911. He saved other people's lives. I took the opportunity to chat with my children, one of whom was about to start driving, and told them how this could have been avoided. Fog suddenly pops up, look around. Is it fog or something else? If it's too late and the engine stalls, throw it in neuttral and allow the car to coast. With the car in gear it will slow down much faster, out of gear and maybe you can coast out the other side. In other words, be aware of your surroundings and THINK. To satisfy the censors, I suppose I should remind everyone to practice these principles when traveling away from our smaller homes. Scott

I don't have a problem with them having a trip somewhere. If the parents want to pay for it then that is their business. Obviously, I think some places would be better places to go than others for a particular group. I went to Mexico when I graduated from high school. My parents let me go because I had taken two years of Spanish and knew a little of the language. I had worked my senior year in high school and paid for it with my own money. It was also through the school so we had a school chaperone. School gives you a little background, but there is nothing like experiencing it yourself. I learned a lot on that trip. I had never heard of the Mayan temples and wish I had known more before I'd gone. I got to see poverty like I've never seen it. It's made me appreciate what I have more. One aspect of that trip is there is no legal drinking age in Mexico. Anyone is legally allowed to drink. The school had permission slips that my parents would not sign. I ignored that because I was 18 and technically legal. I didn't abuse it, but I know others would. I never got drunk, but I tried some of those fancy fruity little drinks like a tequila sunrise, margarita and pina coladas because I wanted to know what they tasted like. We were in some touristy places and went to a few clubs. They were fun, but when you are an American and, particularly, a blue eyed blond you will stand out. I had guys coming up and offering me drinks. I never accepted, but I did have someone bring me a margarita that was really strong. I took a sip or two and set it down because I was uncomfortable. I also always stayed with my group. One girl was drunk almost the entire week. The last night we were there, she brought some local back from the club. They went on the roof together. That could have ended badly, but apparently, she made it back home. Natalie Holiday probably made similar decisions, but left her group and that is where she got into trouble. I did have one weird thing happen and that was a group from a European country kept taking pictures of me. Most of the kids were blond haired and blue eyed like I was. They didn't speak English and none of spoke really great Spanish so I never figured out what that was about.

Oh yes, there is definately something to it.

I think, Joran's Father knows the truth, but is protecting his Son.

I just feel so sorry for her mom. This has to be a continuing, ongoing nightmare for her.

So many of these stories. I just keep telling my kids that drinking too much is at the root of so many problems.

Local news, here, tonite, said, he confessed to a friend and he LIED!
A wait and see when the segment is aired Sunday nite!
News, here, said, Aruba has opened their investigation, again, but I, feel, as so many, here, feel, that there will be no resolution!!

How sad!

Do know her mother and step father are divorced now.
Double sad!

If you've ever been to Aruba, you would not question whether or not Natalie's body was dumped into the ocean. The Island is bordered on one side by the Caribbean; beautiful, calm, not so menacing.

The other side of the island is bordered on the Atlantic Ocean. The water is rough and rugged and shark infested. No matter how she died, whether by accident or intentional harm, I had no doubt the boys disposed of her in the ocean.

There's no chance a body will be washing up on some distant shore. As for Mrs. Twitty, is she still dating John Ramsey?
