schoolhouse lighting over sink

First time posting a question! We are in the midst of finishing our kitchen renovation, and now need to decide on lighting over our farmhouse sink. I love the look of a schoolhouse light, but not sure if it should be semi-flush mounted or pendant? We have a double casement window over the sink, "canned" lighting throughout kitchen and breakfast room, and a "recessed canned" light over the island. Island is under a support beam, and a pendant would have obstructed view of pendant lantern over table in breakfast room. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Any suggested measurement for a light would be from the surface it's lighting, since ceilings can vary so much. But I also considered the fact that when I move the table to clean or whatever, I don't want to walk into the light, so we put our schoolhouse pendant so that it was 6 ft off the floor, which is about 3 1/2 ft off the surface of the table. The directness of the light and wattage will make a difference in how high you want it, too.

This is the double that you speak of. They show it with a counter top height table and higher chairs - very casual. It could look nice in certain settings. It all depends on the space, and it's furnishing. Photos of your space would help discern if it would enhance the kitchen or look out of place.

Kats737- it's heat. We found that when it gets below ten degrees here that the amount of baseboard we put in can't keep the temperature up to its set degrees. We changed from steam to baseboard (unfortunate. I love steam but to replace it all would have cost Almost triple what it did to put in baseboard) and put less baseboard in the kitchen area knowing we would expand in the future. When we found it got too cold we put this little heat blower into the toe kick. It works perfectly.
