I want it.LOL We are planning to sell our home and downsize within the next couple of years.Plan to remodel my mom and dad's home and move into it.I am going to start all over with new living room furniture and want bright colors.I have always been conservative with colors,mostly used neutrals but have always wanted to go in a different direction.That is one of the colors I am contemplating using! I love both pieces, but especially the sofa!

I'm sort of adventurous with furniture color. In our living room we have a Pottery Barn Basic sofa and chair, and several different (fitted) slipcovers for each. We can change the slipcovers as the mood strikes or season changes. Several different window drapes, too, that we change when we change the slipcovers. For me, it's like getting new furniture every few months. :-)

Seriously, I love your new sofa and chair, bright jewel colors are always what I pick. Not always what Dh will agree to, but I usually get my way. My sofa is maroon/red and I have had it fo 21 years. There was a chair to match, but it wore out long ago. It was hard to get other furnature to go well with it, but I love it just as much now as I did when I bought it. You will have fun decorating with florals and plaids to go with it.

I like it. You got a good deal. I'm going to re-do my livingroom and I'm having a chair recovered right now. It was my Dad's recliner. Wedgewood blue leather. I bet you'll love it when it arrives.

I love it too! Years ago a neighbour had a red leather sofa - it really brightened up the place and the accessories you can bounce of it make the whole room look alive.

That is a great choice. All you have to do is change throw pillows for each holiday. You need some White Chenille Heart Shaped Pillows for Valentines Day.

I use a tan slip cover on my old couch that I can wash the "stinky" dog off of. I'm ordering a "purple" one from the net.

Here's ours...we've had them for about 3 1/2 years and we love them. Red is my favorite color, too. We even have red counters in our kitchen.

Love it! We just got a new couch and loveseat but I got a basic boring brown.With 7 dogs and 2 cats,had to go with easy to clean and something that won't show spots.Some day when my dogs are grown and on their own....oh wait...that's kids,not dogs! LOL!

I still LOVE my dull beige couch...but I like it because I can change my colors with bright pillows.

Not saying I don't like your bright red one....I think it is beautiful but I know I won't be able to replace my couch for years. I had the last one for 27 years...(still have them...they are upstairs..lol)
So I have to have something I can change little things with. I can always sew new pillow or recover a side chair to brighten things up.

I love love love your new "red hot chili pepper" furniture! That particular set has been on my wish list for several years now...but sadly it is never on sale. Its sooo vibrant, it will make you feel happy and energized all day long! Enjoy.

Thanks Patti. It is a lacquer plaque set made in Vietnam. It is painted on top of a layer of gold leaf in the background; then, covered with clear lacquer.

There were larger sets but I love this set the most. It was small comparing to the sofa so I thought of building the frame to the back in order to make it look larger and more 3 dimensional.

For the back frame, I used silk fabric to cover 1/2" thick plywood. I sprayed glue first to the wood so the fabric would stay flat, then stapled it to the back. I then, added 4 screws to mount the 4 lacquered plaques.

If you're interested, the link below is from the vendor that I purchased it from. Of course, if you can travel to Vietnam, these would be much cheaper but if you don't know how they're made, you may end up poor quality lacquer arts. This vendor has lots of selections. I've purchased quite a few things from them through the years.
