CF meeting! (pics)

I am really late in posting this, but I got to meet Terri!

She was kind enough to pick up my mom and I while we were on vacation. We saw the sights, shopped, met her boys, visited a lavender farm and a wonderful local potter, and then we "did lunch". OK, we ran out of fun time and grabbed quick fish & chips at the ferry dock!! LOL

Food uneventful, visit..........Priceless!

Terri also brought me some beautiful, hand-painted quilt fabric, a quilting book and parchment baking cups!

Oh! Here's the batter bowl that I found at the pottery shop!

And a few other things I picked up plus the parchment baking cups from Terri:

And our last meal "out" while in Seattle. This is the Crab Pot. They serve a huge bowl of shell fish, potatoes, corn, andouille sausage all steamed together. It is brought to the table in a giant stainless steel bowl and dumped in the middle of the table. Everbody gets a bib! They leave the bowl on the floor for the shells. Lot's of fun!

Wonderful photos! Your travels with Mom keep you meeting CF'ers don't they? LOL Deanna, you look so thin, how much weight have you lost? Give your mom a hug from me, she looks great!

Boy Deanna you sure do get around (snort) and seem to be dragging down the rest of the forum with ya lol. I second the mom hug from Ellen.

What a lovely way to spend the day. Gives me some ideas too....

What a wonderful weekend I had in MI! Cathy and I told Sherry not to go to any trouble, just toss some clean sheet on the bed. Beds were made nice and comfy, but the food! Cherry pie, rhubarb pie, carrot cake, Kalhua chocolate mousse cake, pecan cinnamon rolls, molasses cookies, chicken salad, quiche, pizza, brats, breakfast soufflé, lemon ricotta pancakes with raspberry syrup. I gained 5 pounds just typing this. We had nice long visits, great times shopping, relaxing and playing with Dexter, the snuggledog. And dear, sweet Roger, he is a trooper. Wise man that he is would just roll his eyes and go with the flow. It was so good to see Annie and Elery again. And Annie surprised us with the new 100th Anniversary Edition of the Ball Blue book. That is one hard to find book. Thanks again Annie for keeping us safe when canning. I wholeheartedly second Sherrys statement. Meet CFers when and where you can. You will not regret it Peppi And I did like the chocolate cover bacon. Sort of a sweet/salty/crunchy thing with the little bits of bacon. Not sure I would go out of my way for it, but not offensive either.

Shelayne....thanks! Not quite sure how I feel about the LG yet....I think the cycles are too long....DH and I work in offices...do our clothes really need to wash for an hour? I think the shortest cycle is speedw wash and I think its 35 min....which was about how long my 15 year old Maytag did any cycle. And water temperature is pre selected,maybe you can override it buti haven't figured out how yet. Drying seems to take longer than my Maytag as well. But boy, can you fit a lot without an agitator! I've only had it a month and I probably need to read the manual some more, but the jury's still out...

OMG that looks and sounds like SO MUCH FUN! Thank you for sharing the lovely photos. I am a sucker for pottery and that batter bowl is to die for.
Everyone always seems to "glow" in these CF forum photo ops, and you gals are no exception. How nice to have a chance to travel with your mom!

That's a gorgeous bowl and the Crab Pot looks delicious and fun.

Unfortunately, there were several other people from this forum and Harvest that I was unable to connect with for one reason or another! I'll just have to plan another trip!

Annie, you NEED to come out west! LOL

We've got ocean, temperate rain forest, mountains and high desert all within a days drive. 90 degree days and 50 degree nights right now!

Anytime Annie or anyone else...Life is a little hectic..as Deanna found out...I've got small windows of time. LOL

Our highs on the Island...about 78...so it's fabulous right now.

Sounds like y'all had a great time! Thanks for sharing the pics. Fish and chips on the dock works for me as does that boiled dinner. Terri, great to finally "see" you...great pic of you and DM Deanna! Love the pottery too.

I'm hoping to head up to Portland next summer to visit my daughter. I don't know if it'll happen or not, yet, but if it does, it sounds like I need to plan some additional time visiting CFers !
