DD Kalie (zookeeperkalie here)& Mike are expecting around the first part of Sept!! They had an internal (had NO IDEA that they did this!) ultra-sound and here are the first pics!

Introducing Peanut!

(I think this one, Peanut looks just like Kalie)

(In this one, Peanut looks more like Mike!) ;b LOL

All I care about is, Peanut has a strong steady heartbeat! =)

When my Mum was pregnant for the first time and went into labor, she went to the hospital. The doctor said "when the apple is ripe it will fall from the tree. We don't pick ripe apples." and sent her home. She returned later the same day and delivered. She had 6 kids and tells us we were all late so she was pregnant more than 54 months of her life. With child #5, she was so late they induced her and she picked March 30th because she thought having an April Fool's day birthday would be awful(and the 30th would provide 2 days to get it done). Naturally, child #5 has always wished she had an AFD birthday. Our BIL and a nephew, who do have an AFD birthdays, love to tell her how it is the best birthday. Hope all is well with you and yours. jejvtr: Thanks for the complements on my bedroom, though it's still in the "getting the bones right" stage--as is the rest of my house. This forum has been so helpful--you cannot imagine! I can see a rug working in this room as well. I remember your lovely dining room drapes and I also like pinch pleats on a decorative rod. For so long I was thinking I had to use a double rod and I did not want 2 rows of rings--plus I do not like clips. However, a salesperson told me at RH that I can use loop rings (or simply remove the clips and use them as loop rings)--which then got me rethinking the rod setup. Then today I was looking at a website that mentioned a layered treatment with a traverse rod below and a decorative above--which again got me thinking as that way I won't have 2 layers of rings and I have much more choice of rods! Regarding the mirror, I don't think I will have room for both it and the TV, plus we also put in 2 mirrored closet doors in the room (not in the pics). What do you think of Les' suggestions for a vase and table lamp? I'm really not sure what would be better--center or off to the side. Hope some others chime in on that one--or perhaps squirrel will kindly do a few mock ups for me--pretty please.

I'd definitely agree about glass giving your space a more modern direction. I'm thinking black glass would also be very 'hard' visually -- another surface with a 'strong, masculine' bent. Is that something you want? What direction DO you want to go in? (If it were me, I'd tip just a bit back to the 'softer and more feminine side' with a ceramic tile with a bit of a 'cushion' shape (handmade) and a color that's rich but not too dark. I'm thinking a simple 4x4 on a diagonal layout with a frame treatment over the range... While I love the metal decos, I think they may add too much 'clutter' to an element that needs to be more 'background'. You've also got a lot of outlets in your splash -- so there will already be things there -- things you probably don't want to draw the eye to...

my almost dil (she dated my ds for 3 years, sigh) named her adopted ds jackson jose...so far they use his full name, but by the time he hits hs, i bet it will be jj, lol... love the room..he can grow into it and not have to change it for quite a while...not sure about the tv, though, lol...

I'm glad peanut is healthy! Was there a poblem
that they were worried about and that's why they did
the internal ultrasound? I hope this disproved their

I guess this is the 'norm' for the Dr. that Kalie is going to to have the internal. I had never heard of it, and I figured it was just to make sure all the 'equipment' was where it was suppose to be. Nope...and to have pics of it, I thought was just unreal! Pretty cool.

It is quite common now a days to have an "internal" when you are very early along..less stuff in the way...more direct route shall we say..

This will likely be the one and only time in this pregnancy.

I am enthraweled with US pics!!!! To say I think they are neat is just an understatment! Amazing! (can you tell I never got to have one?!LOL)

That lil peanut is gonna be a sweetheart, I can see that already! I sorta think it looks like Gramma!! ;)

They will also have an ultrasound at about 20 weeks. They want to know the sex and want to see Peanut again! =) (But yes...most of the time there is only the one ultra sound...unless there are reasons.

We had an U/S done when I was preggers with Caryn 26 years ago....I think it was about 22 weeks, and it looks about the same (only bigger) than this one of Kalie's! They couldn't tell the sex or any of that. I had had severe food poisoning while I was preggers and they wanted to check things out, mainly heart and spine. It amazes me also how amazing it all is.

No Connie...I am not sewing YET. I will wait until I know which color I will be sewing! I do have a list of what I want to do, and it will just be to buy the material in the appropriate color! lol

Good heavens, she's barely pregnant!! Isn't it amazing what they can do these days? Sure wish we could have had pictures way-back-when. The actual baby size must be teeny.
