A PH question I hope someone can help me with.
Comments (1)Most municipal water sources deliver high pH water (above 7). It's the pH of the solution that affects nutrients, not the pH of the media itself. The media pH only matters if it is capable of altering the pH of the water. Turface can't as it is chemically inert, but the bark can. If you aren't seeing any problems with the water I wouldn't worry about it. If you are seeing problems then add vinegar routinely. The only thing I worry about are blueberries, but you have some plants that I don't. I don't know how quickly the media pH will be changed as it isn't just about pH. I can tell you that my own water which is 7.5 and very hard changes the pH of my blueberry soil (the ground) within a year. It overwhelms the sulfur I add and then raises pH even higher. I have to use vinegar with those....See MoreThis question could get some funny answers-I hope.I
Comments (36)Lol. I dont often get here into the forum but am a member of the American Hosta Society group in Facebook. Had to copy the question and some of the responses was to funny to not pass up. Dont worry all names where removed to protect the innocent. This was one member's suggestion to help: " don't fear, she should be able to get a good $17 boxed bra, two First Frost Hosta's and change back."...See Moredryer lint filter not catching lint
Comments (5)It's a typical Whirlpool-made 29" dryer. There's not much way for the airflow to get out the exhaust without passing through the filter. The lint filter chute/duct is #55 on the diagram. It attaches to the right side behind the bulkhead. The blower below pulls air through the grill and filter, and blows it out the exhaust. Heated air enters the drum through the element housing at the left side of the bulkhead. If seals #36 and/or #8 are deteriorated, then air will bypass the drum and be pulled in through those junctions, but that wouldn't involve any lint from the clothes. Perhaps the filter itself has worn/deteriorated after 14 years? I've seen cases in which lint is either accidentally or purposely dropped down the chute when the filter is cleaned, which will clog the chute and the blower housing and *seriously* impair the airflow. If that has been happening in your case, perhaps lack of airflow is why your filter isn't catching much lint, and the excess lint in the exhaust duct may be chunks that are coming loose from the chute and blower?...See MoreI have a couple of questions about granite I hope you can help me
Comments (18)Blue Pearl has been around a long time, and will be around a lot longer... When I first started in the "slab side" of this Trade, some 23 years ago, Blue Pearl was one of the first kinds of Granite that I had ever worked with - still love it today, except there's a whole lot more choices now - then there was 23 years ago... I think the "regional" thingy has some validity, but in the end, it's strictly a personal choice issue - I saw alot more of Blue Pearl in the Mid-West than out here in Phoenix... But I'm just a Fabrimicator - not an Inferior Desicrator!!! HA!!!! my .02 cents worth kevin Kevin M.
