Ah...Dea, we don't hear from her anymore. Murphy and her nemesis Kat the Brat and Murphy's SSSSSSSSS's and Kotex slippers. LOL

Glenda used to be so hilarious and made me laugh the most.

I joined the KT way back then because I needed the comic relief while taking care of my Mom.

So many have come and gone.

Glad to see you back Rhonda Roo.

Anne

ahh but Cherryfizz, for the most part I am always around..not a lot unlike a lot of the old posters..lol.they(we) just hang back and watch*S*S*S*S*S*S*thanx just the same tho!

The cross country bus trips!!!

The added on stories!

Friday and Saturday bartenders!!!

I remember staying awake into the wee hours of the morning just because the KT was jumping so much and there were some great parties going on! (I also had kids in HS so I was waiting up for them...then added a couple more hours here!)

Yes, I am pretty sure there are alot of the 'old timers' that still lurk now...just not the same to post.

Ahhhhh.......those WERE the days!

In honor of Joy's Friday Flings!

I guess I was to young for all of that stuff.

ole joyful

thanx Sandy...I remember Officer Andy...hahahahahahha

I've been here since Spike set up the three legged table.

I still miss Spike!

Sue

I remember after weeks and weeks of trying I finally one night got to see the Pizza cam at work. I saw the wonderful brick oven they were baked in.

I had dial up in those days....and it took 5 mins for the Tadpole to make a move....by the time the 5 mins was up he just disappeared from sight...so I gave up.

And I never could get into the really old chat room. The first chat room I was able to get into was AAA's Those were fun fun days...I guess I should say nights

patti

I have been here for years and years, but I just did not post that much then.

I remember the old chat room, used to watch the clock so I would be sure to get in there and join in on the fun. Man everyone was there with several conversations going on at once. Everybody had a different color font and you would follow the colors to keep up with that particular conversation.

One time Kat came up with the idea of us all sending our kids to Camp Wanda for the summer. Wanda VA was thrilled with the idea and it kept up for quite a while. Bobby and I took a long trip that summer and met with and stayed in the homes of lots of KTer's. He was the only kid from the KT that actually got to go to Camp Wanda and to this day asks when he can go back.

Remember Rabbit when she got pregnant and expecting lots of baby bunnies? That kept going for quite a while and everyone wanted a baby of their own. We even had a due date, it was hillarious. I had just learned how to do gifs and wrote up a whole story with gifs throughout. When the hour came to deliver the bunnies my power went out and I lost the whole thing. You talk about rushing to get it put back together again to post in time. Everyone was waiting with bated breath for the grand event.

The Friday night parties that Dave would throw and everyone would come in and add to the fun. Flamingo and the Sheriff were such fun with their antics we never knew what they were going to do next.

Those were the good old days when we had lots of fun.

Anyone remember Elmer the cow? He was on the scene when I first joined. Man he sure got around and got into lots of trouble if I remember right. Even got married and had a family. Dottie sure could spin a yarn.

I could go on and on...sure wish we could turn the clock back and make this a fun happy place to come to. You didn't want to leave your computer because you were afraid you were going to miss something.

I tried to never miss one of Dave's parties and I'd stay up later than usual on those nights, too. lolol

I thought it was so funny we'd all be acting like we were tossing back a few (and maybe some really were). I've never liked to drink alone, but I found I could still carry on like I was 'lit'. LOL

When you would be sent to Disney if you didn't play nice?

I also remember when we had a set night to go to chat and everyone came.

I assume that was a different Dottie on the list than me. Although I did start on here when it was a paid forum. My DDIL dir_ty fingernails paid for and signed me up. The "good old days" sound like fun.Dottie

Dottie, back when I first found the KT there was a Dottie from Indiana. Later on she changed her name to Ima Two Sacker. She was so funny and had quite an imagination. Sadly she passed away several years ago and this place has never been the same since.

There are so many peeps missing here.
I agree this place just isn't the same....I am surprised no one mentioned the beauty contest?! LOL Hilarious!

Those sure were the good old fun days!

Donna (^_^)

LOL Donna...I remember the post about, your now siggy!!! You must be so proud! HAHAHAHA

Tadpole's pizza cams and remember him wearing his bolo? (that's not the name) That fluffy feathery thingie that you put around your neck.

And I would sit in the corner, cause I was bashful, while everyone danced on the table tops.

I was here, but I never posted. Spike scared me. I got sent to Disney once and did not actually post until about 3 years later!

Trish

And Rabbit's DH whizzing off the porch :o)

i miss the old days, it was more about fun and sharing, not worrying that something you said would be misconstrued. i do not ever start a post here and rarely add to one, even if i can help, it's more work trying to be careful about the wording than it's worth. i too miss spike...atleast he was a person and fairly reasonable usually LOL ;-))) now i did say usually :-) i have been around since day one and go even farther back w/ gardenweb & the garden party atleast 13 yrs ago. i met my DH thru garden party 12 yrs ago. i wish we would go back to pay.

i miss the very early days on the net 13-15 yrs ago it was MUCH different. back then i was on for a small amount of info and much more socializing, now it's the opposite. i have a box of disks, mostly 3.5" floppies LOL, of posts from the first few yrs here and at the garden party but i just don't have time to convert their old formats to readable modern ones. it's fun to remember some of the old days, didn't even know those things were stored in my memory lol ~ liz

Glenda thats a boa.
Bet it was a sight to see too!

the pagents

I've been at KT for many years, including when there was a fee, although I don't post much.

Message boards in general used to be more fun. I don't know if it's because the novelty has worn off, and people aren't interested anymore, but all the boards that used to be fun and fast moving have become rather slow now.

I really miss BonnyGranny.....she had such wisdom and a great sense of humor. Remember her alter ego, Carmen?
And who could forget FranCes or Pat Lavendar?

I came here as a lurker in 2000....stayed mostly on the C&D forum. Those were the days when I had time to craft and do craft fairs. Those days are long gone. I started posting here I think around the time that BonnyGranny passed away. I have learned alot in the last 5-6 years on here.

I've been here since around 1999. I lurked for a long time before finally posting. It was hard, because it seemed everyone else "knew" each other already and I was butting in. Still enjoyed most of the time spent here.

When I first came here Murphy was a regular as was Dottie and Marlen. Those were some fun times.

I was at Garden Junk a few years ago when spike was here. he sent someone to Disney and although he didn't ask, I did strongly disagree with his reasoning on it. That person started another Garden Junk forum elsewhere so I followed her.

I came back to GW Garden Junk a few years ago, but not regularly. I was working too much to spend a large amount of time online. One day someone at Garden Junk mentioned KT and whatever they said made me curious enough to check it out. Shortly after I paid to join it went to no pay.

I have heard so much about what fun times used to be had here. I sure wish I had been around then. Some of the ladies I heard about who are no longer with us were real gems. What a blast you people must have had. :)

Linda

Remember the sewing classes? Who was the instructor? And remember Marlen's Spanish lessons?

and Marlens 4th of July celebrations...ahh the good old days *S*S*S

I was a lurker then too!! Best $15 I ever spent!!

I joined the Garden Web in 2001 and was at the Bluebird Forum. Then in 2005, I think it was Wanda that suggested I check out the KT. So I did, and I've been here ever since. Where is Wanda anyway? I haven't seen her for a long time.
Leslie

Ginger was one of the original KT'ers.
She's over at the cooking forums, but knows what's going on here :o)

I never complained about the fee then. I enjoyed being here so much. I joined in 2000 I think. I remember Ima Two Sacker and lots of us being sent to Disney!

I used to really enjoy chat when everyone joined in.
I remember that Murphy really liked Pepsi, so I made a Coca Cola pinnie for her. I think I gave it to her at Sandy & Dean's first KT party.
I sure miss Rabbit.
Remember when Miss Nectarine toured around and visited various KTers?

I always loved getting in trouble with the QOP. I was her Peon to clean her Throne. Man, I hated cleaning up after her. She was too picky. (Hey, Bud, are you still there?)
She kept us all going. I miss her even if she was a cranky old Queen when I never moved fast enough when she snapped her fingers.
Those were the good old days at The KT

I remember "the days".....will always be a near and dear memory

Mistress Dolly - I'm still here, snapping my fingers but it seems most of the peons forget their instructions and one doesn't like to repeat oneself does one. Still awaiting the arrival of FIVE DIONNE ornaments from a "certain peon".....ok, it's Lydia l959. She sent them years ago but it seems she has blamed Canada Post for the mishandling...who knows. I remember Murphy......and pinnie's...and campouts and bus trips......ah, someone always wanted to stop at a comfort station. Glenda always brought some great homemade goodies. Ah those were the days....... Miss Dolots, there is dust under my throne dear, come and do your magic.

Dear QOP
I am so sorry you have been so busy with your royal duties you very rarely come to have a cup of tea and scones with your loyal peons.
Please bless us with your presence more often.
Peon Carol

I was here before paying. I posted mostly on the Crafts and Decor boards
I hope Spike is doing ok does anyone ever hear about him?

I was thinking of Spike this morning, came to the KT tonight to search on "spike" because I figured if anyone knew what became of Spike after selling to iVillage, you KTers would know.

I have been at THS since 2003 and think of this virtual community as a great accomplishment. Spike created a whole little world for us, I hope he knows how much we love it - even if it has changed since the old days.
