TC has gone to the Rainbow Bridge

I am crying as I write this I came home from work tonight to have my brother tell me that my precious furbaby had died. He apparently had, had a heart attack he hadn't been sick or anything. My brother said TC ate his supper got up on his catnapper and later my brother heard a thump of him jumping down off of it and it sounded a littler harder than usual and when my brother went to look found him on the floor. TC would have been 17 this spring.

I am so sorry to hear about your furbaby. I know how devastating it is to lose a loved one. I lost my EKO 4 years ago at the age of 19.

It is never easy but for 17 years he was loved by you.

kittywhiskers - I am so very sorry. We are going through the same thing. 17 years... he had a long and happy life, I'm sure. Take comfort in the fact he did not suffer.

Thanks to everybody for all the warm thoughts. It was so odd not having to get up in the middle of the night to carry her outside. But I still woke up every few hours. I slept well though knowing she is better off now. I cried the hardest coming home from the vet knowing that I could not take back my decision. I looked up her AKC papers this morning, and found she was born April 2, 1992. So whe was closing in on being 16 years old. The fab four were Missy, Tate, Alley, and Shelby. All Lhasa Apsos. Shelby and Tate were best of buddies, and had a litter of 4 precious puppys about 14 years ago. One of their offspring made the news by finding an elderly man fallen in his garage. With out his persistance, the gentleman would have probably died. Lots of wonderful memories the fab four had at this house. I will treasure them always. They helped raise my three kids here. Huge hugs for you and your DH Moonie! I lost my heart dog October 16th. The day we planned Madison's 7th birthday party. All the GB's were here and family. I cried and cried and had to pull it together for the little ones so they could have their party. I don't know if I could have done it enough to go to a job interview. My hat is off to you. I know it hurts so terribly bad! I still think of our little girlie girl Miss. I tear up often. It isn't all day long anymore. I will never,ever forget her as I know you won't with Quincy. I remember you posting pictures of him way back when you first got him. He looked like such a total love. It doesn't take long for them to wrap those little paws around your heart. My DSis had a Doberman that had terrible seizures also, he was young when she had to put him down also I am thinking around Quincy's age. I don't know if this is it, but I've always like this one. -------------------------------------------------------------- Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. Thank you every one for all the kind word, poems & hugs. It was a hard decision but we wanted her to go out on the high road. We made the mistake one time of hanging on to a dog to long for our own selfish reasons & vowed to never do that again. When I spoke to one of the staff at the vet's office she said to bring her in. After speaking to Doc he agreed. He remembered us hanging on to Casey to long. Of course I stayed with her the whole time, my husband was at work. We are really missing that sweet little dog, we took her every where with us. Sleeperblues, so sorry to hear about your dog.. You did not hijack this thread, you extended your hand out to me because we are in the same boat right now. On the bright side-Calico Kitty is enjoying having her food bowl being kept on the floor now. Biscuit loved sneaking a bite of cat food.

I am so sorry for you. It must have been a great shock. That makes it even more difficult. I know.....JD's passing was a big shock and it hit me like a ton of bricks.

My condolences on TC. Sounds like he had a nice life there and was able to end it without long suffering as so many do which I hope is a comfort to you but of course doesn't make it any less sad. Seems like a lot of critters are living longer lives these days too. 15-20 years isn't that unusual anymore.

He had his meal, took a short nap and then it was his time. If you gotta go, seems like a nice way.

I'm sure you have a lot of great memories about him to enjoy and comfort you in your loss. Share a story or two and a picture or two when you feel up to it. If you need help posting the pictures, let me know. I'll be glad to help.

Seventeen is a good long life, and I know he had lots of love. Going quickly is a blessing for him, but harder on you, I know. Sending sympathy and hugs.

He was a handsome boy! Kitty, be glad he went that way and did not suffer like so many older kitties do. I know your heart is breaking, and I'm sorry he's gone.
