The other night I made one of Paula's dishes for my Mom. It was her Hash Brown Quiche. OMG! It was delicious! When we lived in France my DM used to make quiche all the time and we loved it. I was a bit nervous serving this to her but she thoroughly enjoyed it. Here's the recipe:

3 cups, shredded frozen hash browns, thawed and drained
4 tablespoons (1/2 stick) butter, melted
3 large eggs, beaten
1 cup half-and-half
3/4 cup diced cooked ham
1/2 cup diced green onions
1 cup shredded Cheddar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
Gently press the drained hash browns between paper towels to dry them as best as possible. In a 9-inch pie plate, toss the hash browns with the melted butter into the plate. Press them into the bottom and up the sides to form a crust. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown and starting to crisp.

Meanwhile, in a large mixing bowl, combine the remaining ingredients. When the hash brown crust is ready pour the egg mixture over it and return to the oven.

Lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees F and bake for about 30 minutes until the quiche is light golden brown on top and puffed.

Gwanny, do you ever buy the Kosher Saurkraut in the bag at Wal-Mart? I can't remember the name, but it's so good and crispy.

I saw her make this quiche and want to try it. I love quiches. I used bagged saurekraut but it wasn't kosher...I'll have to look for that! Sounds good.....

We have pork and sauerkraut every New Year's.Never cooked the potatoes in it though.Always have mashed with it.Will have to try cooking the potatoes in it!
We had Ham,green beans and potatoes made from ham and broth I froze at Christmas.Was VERY good,really tasty.

I made the quiche at my sister's house, and everyone wanted the recipe. I LOVE it!

Sure sounds great! But DH and DS do not like sauerkraut at all.

Mom used to make Sauerkraut and Ribs a lot when I was a kid but they didn't look like the photo.

We got a Paula Deen ham and three 2lb.boxes of frozen macaroni and cheese (also Paula Deen) for Christmas. We had a ham at Thanksgiving that cost $1.79 a pound that was a lot better and we would rather have Kraft mac and cheese from the box. I have no idea what these things cost but the shipping must have cost a lot since they were in styrofoam boxes with dry ice. I think if they took away Paula Deens' butter and cream she couldn't cook.
