Hurrying up a too-slow pot roast for TONIGHT’S dinner?

Give it a shove in the rump…okay, don’t think that would help
much..

I normally make pot roasts in my slow cooker, starting noon-ish,
on high, for dinner at 6:30. My spouse is a creature of habit, if dinner will be
late, he snacks, and then doesn’t eat much dinner.

But I was delayed getting home and didn’t get it in there until
1:30. 2+ hours later, and it is barely getting brown.

I thought of putting it in the oven, but I am not sure there
is any time advantage. Is there ?

What about using my pressure cooker? I lost the manual.

Oven would be my first choice, as with the pressure cooker I’d
feel like I could not leave the room. Thanks!
