Okay to have two lever styles in whole house?
Comments (4)If you love them both, go for using both... use one style for main rooms and other for bedrooms/bathrooms/closets. Who cares what the builder thinks. Don't forget to buy a few extras of each style for down the road if they start to break. With the lever styles, they tend to start to 'sag' after a while. (As compared to the knob styles which don't have an oppurtunity to 'sag'). Kids are especially tough on the levers....See MoreLiving room decorating- two very different options.....
Comments (8)I'd like to see the floral - too bad there are no pictures. I looked up (and linked) the LLBean sofa - not convinced it's right for your room. A bit on the modern side (the lines). What does the outside of your home look like? Beautiful room, lovely color and great FP. Oh, fwiw, after two years in our home, the great room is nothing as I pictured before we moved in - it is better! Once we lived in the house awhile....and after one wrong sofa purchase - hello Goodwill - not to mention the rug that's now in a guest bedroom, it's perfect. Don't be in a rush! Comments (31)We are actually days away from making 2 separate rooms, and doing a whole house remodel. We designed our addition to work for now and the future. We have 3 children 11, 8, and 5, who will get bigger and so will their friends and my father will be moving in with us, as he is lonely since my mother passed. I want our home to be a place the kids feel comfortable bringing their friends without being cramped...which is what we are now. Our current living room is about 20 x 15. We've decided to open the wall to the garage with large french doors and make it a rec/family room. They will still be two separate rooms, but we'll have the option of keeping the doors open or closed. The room was supposed to be a substitute for a basement play/fun area, but then our architect came back with the drawings and there was a large playroom upstairs for the kids. We still thought the family room would be great since we have large outside family/pool parties (60-80 people) three times a year, and one of these times it's going to rain. We will probably have several smaller gatherings now that we'll have the room. I figured the french doors would allow privacy, but not too much - thinking of those testosterone filled years. ;)...See MoreWould it look okay to have two chests instead of a chest and dresser?
Comments (10)Somewhere in time a bedroom SET was designed with a place for him and a place for her to store clothes in drawers. Because furniture manufacturers sell suits this way does not mean ya have to live with their vision. Get the pieces that will service your needs. I find the newer "dressing room/closets" very curious. They seem to go along with not having "dressers" of any sort. I wonder at why? What are people using their bedrooms for if not for dressing/ sleeping and why is a dresser such an eyesore to have? I do not comprehend reading/lounging in a far off room when I have spent much time and effort to make my living room/family rooms welcoming and comfortable. JMHO. But I digress...GET WHAT YOU WANT!!...See Morelynxe
