HELP- Maytag Bravos Washer is such a pain!
Comments (68)Here's a vid for comparison of my Fisher & Paykel AquaSmart running two sets of sheets (queen and twin) and several pillow covers on the designated Sheets cycle. Run it at full-screen and 2x speed to see the rollover more clearly. Wash period starts at 6 mins 55 secs. Sheets cycle on AquaSmart is a specific deep-fill level, although not as high as the machine above. It's for sure too much water for one twin set of sheets, almost too much for one queen set, good for both sets together. Agitation alternates through three patterns -- long slow rotation, long slightly faster, short faster....See MoreNew LG HE top loader washer using too much water?
Comments (14)Considering that it's only my wife and I and we don't do that many washing loads, we're very satisfied so far that the LG will meet our needs and expectations (won't know how it holds up until later). With the different cycles available and the ability to modify them to a reasonable extent, we can always pretty much match water level to something that works well on any load we would wash. On the cycles that have a high default fill we will just add enough clothes to match. No more loads than we do, the water usage is not that important to us, and we prefer the choice of using a cycle (and/or the water plus selection) that will use enough water for great results, but use very little water when it's appropriate. On the water temps, we're perfectly satisfied as well. Machine cold (not tap cold which is about 62 deg right now) 80-82 deg is fine, well above detergent performance level. Warm around 102 deg tested after fill with clothes) is fine also, and having 120-124 deg hot water available on hot without using the heater (still haven't tested on sanitize or bright whites with heater available) seems unexpectedly good on an HE washer with a hot water heater setting of 135 deg. Don't know what the future holds, but everything considered, at this point we couldn't be more pleased with both washer and dryer (particularly after reading many HE experiences folks have had). It definitely pays to learn the 'ways of operation' of your particular machine. I'm not sure though, after observing a few wash cycles, our washer even knows what it's doing half the time... but it seems to work out well. Thanks... Comments (54)What does it have anything to do with who we vote for? Times change everything anyway. Look back 10 years then 20 years, it all changes no matter what, who or when. Voting has nothing to do with the washer problem. Oh, maybe you voted Maytag or Mickey Mouse. Water restrictions were going to happen one day along with all the other restrictions we have on our environment due to lack of education on preserving what we have left. We all just have to do our part where we can. All of the water that is used in my house is cleaned and reused in my yard instead of me having to water my aerobic system does it for me. I compost what I can and do my recycling when I can, and since my home is 1925 its not exactly "energy efficient" but when I upgrade I make sure to upgrade to "energy efficient" if compatible. Now we just need to get Maytag to answer all of our questions, but then again why would they? It just helps them to not answer, most people will just go buy another washer instead. They know that everything is made to be thrown away by the consumer. We have all gotten too lazy to repair what we have the manufactures have us under their thumbs. Make a product expensive enough to ride the fence on repairing the problem, at that point we give up and buy something new. I think we all need to get mad at the manufactures and hold them accountable. Lets take out all of this madness from 2020 out on them instead of everyone else. Who is with me?? #BoycottMaytagBecauseTheyAreFullOfShit, #MaytagBrovosXLWasherIsAPainInTheAssToLearn, #WhatMaytagIsMadeInTheUSA-Really?, #MaytagBrovosXLWasher-Sucks....Water, #PoundingLaundryOnRocksAtRiverWouldWorkBetterThanThisMaytag (Not real hashtags, I was only being funny about the boycott. Not trying to start a war of the washers. Please people put the rocks back in the river after you finish your wash, you know what the bible says about throwing stones.)...See MoreI HATE my LG Top Loader Washer and Dryer
Comments (2)You might try slowing your Spin speed down to under 1000 for less wrinkles. The old Maytag you had probably has a 600RPM spin...See Morehvtech42
