Sorry for the delay in introducing myself (we switched computers and have been without until today). Last fall my husband and I moved to a new-to-us house (1 acre) in San Antonio that literally had 3 trees and a few bushes. I decided to dive into gardening and try to add some color and life to our home. I started flower seeds for the first time last winter/spring and a lot of them grew. Now, I believe I am addicted. When my husband can't find me, he knows I'm out picking the "little grenades" off of my four o'clocks or looking for something to dead head and get the seeds out of. Of course, I've had quite a few failures, but those just get thrown over the fence and we don't talk about 'em. :-) I look forward to becoming active on GW, it seems like a lot of fun! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I received my wonderful package from Margo. The author was Fern Michaels and the book is The Nosy Neighbor. It sounds like exactly my kind of book! I just finished a Fern Michael's book called Christmas at Timberwoods. It's good if anyone is looking for a Christmas suspense story. I have only read a few of her books and not the one Margo sent. I got up with a very sore back today so it sounds like a good day to read. Margo also sent some seeds, a card, a bookmark with information about hummingbirds, a notepad with my initial, a pretty bracelet that she made, and a pop up vase with a greeting card. heya ya'll, I am pooped, tired, sleepy worn out. lol. I went shopping today, remind me to stay AWAY from malls and stores until Christmas is over!!! I went with my " saurrogate" mom sheesh I still don't understand how some people just LOVE to shop! The way I shop is I write a list, go in get whats on my list and check out! If I wan't exercise I ride my bike or take the kiddos to the doggie park or just go to the country and walk. FORGET SHOPPING for this girl! Becki Dave is in our prayers that he has a safe trip. I know it worries you til he walks in. I am sooo sorry that some of ya'll or ya'lls loved ones had a rotten childhood. Its sad that parents take their frustrations out on their kiddos. Carol, I don't blame your DH one bit for not liking her, he may love her deep down because she is his mother but he doesn't have to like her. Fishy, sweetie you don't have to go out of your way at all for me. I am very easy cause I love everything that is sent with a hug and a smile. WHOOHOOO I send to Sandy!!!! That happened to me once on another forum. Somebody not following directions that is. I gave a recipe for a dessert dish that had always gotten raves in the past---including from me of course. This lady decided to make it for a get-together with her in-laws, then complained that they didn't seem to be impressed. THen she went on to mention all the substitutions she had made, eiher due to not having a particular product and/or her own "creativity". I guess it didn't help that she clearly wasn't her in-laws' favorite DIL, as apparently they raved on & on about the other DIL's dessert contribution that day. So, in the end, it really wasn't MY recipe.
