The panel is ON! It's ON! So long flying dishwasher!!!!

It took over an hour to get it on right! I need to get those guys a gift!

But my panel is on! It is on!! Of course, it needs paint. But I think it looks pretty perfect! I'm seriously tearing up here! Finally, something matches the image in my brain!! Oh, WOW!!!!!!

Here is the old "flying dishwasher." Stand by for takeoff!!

Here is the new version!!! (I snuck a photo) Hinges and latch to go on the fake door part.

*sniff sniff* Wow. Just wow.

TheHusband and I were saving a special bottle of champagne for tomorrow (when the soapstone goes in), but I think maybe we'll open it tonight instead!

It looks fab!! But where will you store your cd's?

It really does look lovely. Did you get your other cabinet fit issues resolved?

Venus fly traps will not live long in those small cup things you always see them sold in. You shouldn't even grow them in a terrarium but some folks do and it works for them. Setting it in the sun inside that cup probably cooked it. They are also not a tropical plant as many people believe, They are indigenous to a very small region in north and south Carolina in the south-eastern US. VFT's require a resting or dormant period during the winter or they will often die after a few years. At the end of the growing season just cut off anything dead looking and place the plant in a cool spot where it won't grow for a couple of months. Don't let it dry out though. I've even heard of people putting them in their refrigerators for the winter, never tried it myself. They will grow in full sun outdoor but if you've had them inside you need to acclimate them to full sun first.

I panelled everything that didn't get too hot (inc. the warming drawer which only gets a little hot), so if I vote for panelled, it probably doesn't mean much. A panel ready dishwasher costs more, however, plus having a a decent carpenter to make you a nice panel if you want it to look like a cabinet, not just like from the same company. Someone in a similar situation used a white DW and it looked good, but I'd probably just go with stainless at that point. If you want the panel to look like a cabinet (or drawers or whatever), your carpenter can make a frame that looks like the cabinet frames, and you can put fronts within it to match your doors/drawers. Or you could just buy the frame and fronts from the cabinet company. The carpenter might have to thin the frame a bit to make everything line up. Do check the specs as well, to make sure how much thickness the DW will take and still match up with your already installed cabinets.

I don't think the previous contracts will create a stigma. I had three contracts fall through before finding a serious buyer, it didn't seem to affect anything (other than the number of grey hairs on my head). It was during the super-heated market several years ago, and buyers were apparently going under contract to take homes off the market while they thought about their decision. In all three cases my potential buyers pulled out during the three-day attorney review period without penalty. The reasons: "afraid of being in a flood zone", "buyer broke up with her boyfriend", and no reason at all (just a big "No" written rudely across the contract). The people who eventually bought the house had wanted it from the very beginning but it was always under contract when they checked. And they only found out the contracts had fallen through because they drove by during the realtors' open house. Hang in there, demeron. It's great that you've gotten so many offers, sounds like you're doing things right and will sell your house soon. Did you put a time limit on your counteroffer?

Oh my Anj, SOOOOO sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you and DH are going to be fine. Bet you have taught those kids enough that they can take care of you for a few days. Sending Get Well Wishes your way and hope you both have a fast recovery. Belle, congrats on the new family members. I want to see pictures. They both sound so cute. Have you had time to finish your scene and witch? Did you take before pictures of the witch? I love seeing what you gals come up with on the redo's. Luvs, we didn't end up with any damage but to bad it happened. Hope your sore muscles are feeling better. We are taking DGD shopping for a Halloween costume tomorrow. Hope there is still some left. Chances are I'll have sore feet when I'm done. Have your showers continued? I would like a sweater instead of my heavy coat too.LOL It's not to bad unless the wind comes up and then oh boy, not good. Cali, we own two businesses but I'm not sure I can say which ones on here. We sell cell phones for one company and satellite TV for 2 companies. Your weather sounds great if you could get some rain to help out, would be wonderful. We are low 30's and high's 40's. I put the latch (disengaged it so it wouldn't actually lock closed) and hinges on. Here is the wall (still need the trash pullout):

Where's the dishwasher?

Ah--here it is!

But there is one little problem: Now I'm going to live in fear of my dishwasher breaking. Lordy, what happens when we need to replace it? Never mind!

Soapstone tomorrow! I think I need a sedagive...(anyone remember that movie?)

Oh MY! Francy, I remember all the angst you've had with your kitchen and your DW is completely integrated now. No one will EVER, ever know it's a DW unless you show them. What a job well done. Looks a gazillion times more integrated than mine :(

You must be so happy! Well, yes, you are! I can tell from your posts. Can't wait to see the soapstone in tomorrow...

I'm so so so so happy for you Francy! Now here are good vibes for the soapstone tomorrow!!!! Hopefully you will be dancing a jig this weekend! LOL! It looks fabulous and I can't wait to see it all soapstoned and painted!
