Sorry -- "Rawr" is kind of a net-slangy "roar". As in, with whom should I get on the phone and yell, "Rawr! What you idiots doing?!" And I hope I'm not double posting -- the post I thought I did yesterday doesn't seem to be here, but I was really tired, so who knows *what* I did ;-) After playing phone tag all afternoon, the Lowes' guy seems to think that 1) the three week problem was because they were back ordered and 2) that they *should* be able to get one in another week. But they couldn't order a new one till the old one got back, and then it was too late, and the sales guy doesn't get in until 11:30 today . . . But DH is convinced that they'll get it ordered and get it in a week and wants to stick with the original plan. I'm expecting to hear, "Oh, well you know it's Friday, and we missed some deadline, and, and . . ." And I now have six houseguests, in addition to the four of us, with a nine year old Bosch that barely works and wasn't big enough for the four of us. We're going to try hooking it back up and hope the case didn't crack any worse and that we can get the dryer to run again. I swear -- it's no wonder there are no reviews of these, they're impossible to get! You'd think they were hand carved by Tibetan monks and trucked through the mountains by caravan . . .

Thanks fastonetime, so glad to read the review. This is my first choice washer/dryer when my now 15 year old top load Whirlpool dies. Cool to hear how the washer creates steam and that things are working great and your happy with your purchase. Have you used the More Water option and does it add more water to the wash AND the rinse or just one or the other? Just a heads up for others, there is an updated version to the Wavetouch coming out this September (I got that info. from Chris Polk). He said and I quote: "We do have a new line of laundry products that are scheduled to launch by the end of September. These will feature much of the same appearance and design, just a few additional cycle and setting choices that what is currently offered." Thanks for the review.

According to the energystar.gov website which released new specifications in March 2014 "Any clothes washer manufactured as of March 7, 2015 must meet the Version 7.0 requirements to bear the ENERGY STAR mark." So the manufacturers can still be manufacturing to the old specifications for a while yet before they have to shift over to the new specifications and it's probably at least 30 days if not six months (depending upon inventory) after they make that shift that the new models will begin to appear in the stores. Some manufacturers will be ahead of the curve... One of the new supposedly advantageous features is the optional interconnectedness: "ENERGY STAR washers with connected functionality will offer consumers new convenience and energy-savings features, such as an alert indicating there is a performance issue or feedback to consumers on the energy-efficiency of different wash cycle selections. These products will also be “smart grid” ready, meaning they will give consumers the option to connect their clothes washer with their lorcal utility to save money on their energy bills, where those services are offered, and also facilitate broader electric power system efficiency." The use of the words "will offer consumers new convenience and energy saving features" has a very 1984-ish ring to it now that "smart" utility meters (which are not optional in most locations) allow the power company to ding you for using power during what your local power company considers prime time...there is nothing convenient or energy saving to the consumer about doing laundry every night now that one load takes three hours to accomplish from washer to dryer. As I looked through the energystar.gov website, I was very troubled by the use of the word "stakeholders" on their website as it appears to me that the only stakeholders are the washing machine manufacturers themselves. I wrote to energystar and asked how it is that the consumer is not represented as a stakeholder. The answer was that environmental groups are representing the consumer (I guess I should not be surprised since energystar.gov is part of the EPA). But that is not a correct or reasonable assumption. When I pointed out that the consumer really just wants a decent wash and dry that does not take all day to accomplish one load (some people in fact are buying sets of washers and dryers in order to get the laundry done) and that the consumer wants the machines to run well and for a long time so that it costs consumer less, less material is used and less material goes to landfills.... Strangely if you go to the energy star.gov website it is filled with suggestions that you become a "partner" with them. People need to speak up. There are a lot of people who speak on this forum I sure hope they take the time to look at the energystar.gov website and begin to offer (demand) their input. Not sure what everybody is worried about as far as the Elux ovens???? Is it the fact that the glass broke on one, Wolf has had a least one oven glass door shatter, and at least 4 cases of the blue cobalt interior flaking (Just talking about posts here in GW). Should we all be afraid to buy Wolf ovens now??? I don't think so! Unfortunately such things happen albeit fairly rarely. Just go to the AJMadison site and do a search there for Electrolux ovens, most the ratings will be 4 to 5 stars. As mentioned before, Electrolux did have some oven self cleaning problems around 2009-2010, but they took care of the problem. I have not found a single oven manufacturer that has not had oven self cleaning problems, the Electrolux usually just tripped a thermal switch, and no parts were needed for the repair, Yea I know still a Pita, but better than some of it's competitors (KA) where a thermal fuse had to be replaced, or numerous other manufactures that actually "Fried Control Boards"!(Including KA). So No Worries, Odds are you will be happy with your purchase, and if noise is a concern, go to a showroom and hopefully you can listen to one that is hooked up. As I mentioned mine is extremely quiet, gotta get right next to where it vents to hear it, seems like my post got "Ignored"? If ya need proof, I will video tape it and put it on Utube, but since mine is 5 + years old now, That would not be as relavent as listening to the current model. Gary
