Dacor Epicure vs Electrolux Icon Wall Ovens - HELP??!
Comments (6)"Frigidaire makes Electrolux, In my opinion they have a long ways to go with this new brand. They have had several update kits already put on the market to fix issues with the ovens control. When I say they I mean Electrolux." It would really be nice if you did your "Homework" before posting the "Poppycock" above. Had you bothered to even check the posts on GW, you would know that Fridigaire was bought by Electrolux, and Elux markets Fridigaire as their lower priced brands, and we see quite a few positive posts about the Fridigaire brand. The Elux Brand is maketed as a mid-priced brand, while their Icons are priced a bit above that. Elux has lead the way in many innovations as far as ovens go. Fully gliding out racks on ball bearings,"Coolest oven door in the industry", Perfect Turkey---fast preheat----etc etc etc! Also had you read GW, you would see that "MOST" folks that bought the Elux ovens are very happy with them, both from a reliablity as well as a performance perspective. They have also been happy with the service they received if it was ever needed. Elux did have a lotta Fridge problems a few years ago, and they did not handle those problems very well, but they learned from that, and we see few complaints as far as their ovens go. Kinda Sad to see somebody with the title "Appliance & Refrigerator Repair", be so "unimformed" I guess you got your "Training" from Sales People? (Most who are not "Reknown" for their appliance knowledge). Anyway, read GW, for a while, before making your next post, and that "Next Post" will certainly be more "Knowledgible" than the above, (Or at Least I HOPE)!!...See MoreI hate my electrolux wall oven...anyone
Comments (5)If it is heating unevenly I would have someone look at it. I have one and it heats very evenly. Is that true in all the modes? I must say I don't worry too much about keeping the racks new looking. I wipe them off and clean them with a green scrubber when I run the self clean. I found the racks were much easier to remove than some of the others I tried. It is one of the downsides to the roll out racks is that they are much harder to move around and require the side supports. I have had the oven for a few years and it is pretty easy now to take the rack and supports out. I think some of my ovens before this one had the supports made into the oven walls and no roll out racks so were easier too....See MoreElectrolux wall oven help please!
Comments (1)o.k. Please forgive me my question. Stupid me didn't realize the 'side' bars are also considered 'racks' so, I took them out, and it is busy doing the easy part...cleaning the flat bottom and sides. I'm left cleaning the racks. I really don't like my oven at all. They all took a step backwards when they took away our opportunity to lay foil down on the bottom of the oven. I was told it was my choice to leave in the racks or not. I was lied to by the salesman. grrrr.....so, what is a good cleaner to use to clean my racks with? anyone?...See MoreUpdate on my electrolux wall oven is a lemon
Comments (6)Don't forget there is a lag time on your thermometer. It might take a minute or more to catch up to the oven. If I put a cold thermometer in a 350 degree oven, it might take 4-5 minutes to register. The oven might beep ready when it gets within 25 degrees, because an acceptable temperature swing is 50 degrees(25 degrees on either side of the set temperature. My Electrolux oven has a much tighter range of just a few degrees on either side of the setting though. Other things to look at is how much variation after the oven has been preheated for 20-30 minutes. Check it every 3-5 minutes for 30 minutes. If you open the oven (the temperature is expected to drop) how long till it recovers? If you move the thermometer around in the oven, I would wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow the oven to come back to temperature and equilibrate before you read the temperature. Make sure your visibility is good through the window....See MoreRelated Professionals
