Wish I could help you love it, but alas, I feel the same way about the fan running forever after use. Something I wish I had know at the time of purchase. At least you got to run your self-clean. If you do a search on Electrolux and my name, you will find a long thread concerning the first time I used my self clean and a certain glass panel shattering in the oven. I was unable to get any satisfaction from Electrolux because I was out of warranty and had to eat the cost of a new glass panel. My DH installed so we avoided the service call cost but it still cost almost $200. I expected more from an oven that cost as much as you know it cost.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems. My fan runs after I turn the oven off but it's not terribly noisy. I barely notice it. Can you have a serviceman come check it out to see if it's louder than usual?

I have had splatters in the oven as well but run the self-clean every once in a while with no problems whatsoever. I love my Elux ovens--one of my favorite things about my remodel.

The model # is EW30EW55GS7. It was installed the week before Christmas. It is actually at our mountain getaway cabin, so I have used it only 7 or 8 times so far. Fortunately, the self clean cycle does work and the oven continued to work fine after using the self clean.

Mari joan, I remember reading your post at the time your glass panel shattered. Based on your experience, I had been reminding myself to run the self clean well before the one year warranty was up. I just did not expect to have to run it to clean an oven that appeared perfectly clean, but had grease up in it's fan. Oh well.
In what ways have any of you been using the convection feature?

I also barely notice the fans running with my Elux double wall oven (regular model, not Icon). I use convection about 70% of the time and never had something like that happen.

I've had mine long enough that I really should run the self-cleaning cycle to see if it will go sour. I bought a 3 year extended warrenty that is handled by the Appliance store (not an unknown third party) so I've still got some time.

So far, I love so many things about my oven, but I never had a double oven or one with this mean features before. My last oven also had convection, but not the True Convection and I like TC much better. Love the Convection roast too, and the proofing and have only used the dehydrating cycle one time to finish up some sausage I had in the smoker all afternoon. Needed to get it up to 165F and when the temps started dropping outside, the smoker could not keep up. Oven came to the rescue and the sausage turned out wonderful.

Oh dear, I hate reading this. I am trying to decide on which double oven to choose for my remodel and was considering Electrolux, Wolfe and Jennair. Now I don't know if I should consider Electrolux. My current double ovens are Kitchenaid and I have had trouble through the years with them overheating during the clean cycle to the point of them going out. It has always been very pricey to have them repaired and I have stopped using the clean cycle for that reason.

whoops... I just bought a double Wall Oven from Electrolux, although I have not yet had it installed.

Not sure what everybody is worried about as far as the Elux ovens????

Is it the fact that the glass broke on one, Wolf has had a least one oven glass door shatter, and at least 4 cases of the blue cobalt interior flaking (Just talking about posts here in GW).

Should we all be afraid to buy Wolf ovens now???
I don't think so! Unfortunately such things happen albeit fairly rarely.

Just go to the AJMadison site and do a search there for Electrolux ovens, most the ratings will be 4 to 5 stars.

As mentioned before, Electrolux did have some oven self cleaning problems around 2009-2010, but they took care of the problem.

I have not found a single oven manufacturer that has not had oven self cleaning problems, the Electrolux usually just tripped a thermal switch, and no parts were needed for the repair, Yea I know still a Pita, but better than some of it's competitors (KA) where a thermal fuse had to be replaced, or numerous other manufactures that actually "Fried Control Boards"!(Including KA).

So No Worries, Odds are you will be happy with your purchase, and if noise is a concern, go to a showroom and hopefully you can listen to one that is hooked up. As I mentioned mine is extremely quiet, gotta get right next to where it vents to hear it, seems like my post got "Ignored"? If ya need proof, I will video tape it and put it on Utube, but since mine is 5 + years old now, That would not be as relavent as listening to the current model.

I cannot hear the convection fan at all while things are cooking in the oven. I can hear the discharge vent heat after the oven is shut off.

So, is there another fan, besides convection cooking fan, which pushes out the hot air into the room?

Whatever system vents the ovens after cooking, is the system making the noise. Yay or nay for the convection fan, dunno?

My electrolux wall oven is brand new (2/3 mons). I find the venting fan to be loud and annoying. Not sure why spitting hot air out of the oven is “smart” in the first place. I dont even want to cook/bake with an oven as much as I used to. I wish I could just turn it off. Why can’t I turn it off!?!

I just purchased an electrolux icon 30” freestading ... it is so so loud, within minutes of turning bake on till long after the oven cools down... if i had knowN this before purchase, it would have been a deal breaker. Id like to make it my mission to let everyone know not to buy this
