What's for dinner 1/20/11?

I cleaned out the refrigerator today including the door that holds and keeps stuff for many moons, it seems. At least from the amount of empty jars in the trash. The frig looks nice and sparkly now and I resolve not to buy anything unless I have a purpose for it.

Tonight we're having oven-fried pork chops, quinoa (luckygardnr's recipe) and steamed broccoli. What are you having?

WE got a 20" snowfall overnight so its been hectic trying to dig out. Fortunately we had an adequate warning from the weather service ppl the night before so I made a huge pot of chilli in the crock pot. It sure has been nice to go out there and mess with the snow a bit, then come in, pull the heavy clothes and boots off and warm up with a small bowl of chilli and a few cups of hot coffee.

Was over to see Mom in hospital today. She asked if I'd go to her home, get a roast out of the freezer, cook it well-done, have mashed potatoes, carrots around the roast etc. When Wally gets home from work the 3 of us can eat dinner then. I did, and Wally was surprised and thrilled. Mom's been in the hospital 10 weeks, and Wally is still loving his pasta. He feels much more comfortable eating at home than at other people's places, even ours, so I didn't mind cooking for him at their home. Dinner was good!

Lemon-pepper pork chops, green beans, rice with fresh garlic, steamed cauliflower. I did good if I say so myself! Marilyn Sue, I have to remember to get some sweet potatoes this week. Love them any way they're prepared!

Chinese take out. I felt guilty. Went to movies and had lunch at a Chinese restaurant next to theater. Told DH I'd bring home take out if he would like. Orange Beef, General Tsao's chicken, fried rice and hot and sour soup. Can't wait. The egg rolls are from the freezer. I made them a while back.

LOL Glenda is that at a fair grounds??? Have you eaten it I would love to have that~~

We have soup from my last nights experiment of making mixed bean/ham soup~~~it was good:)So it is on for tonight too. I was excited it was good last time I tried it tasted like water soup no taste at all.

I just found that gif, but I DID have a fried bologna sandwich.

Neatest newly opened placed called Over Easy.

They serve breakfast all day long, and my kind of sandwich.

We had Tami Oh's Chicken and stuffing we all liked it. Creamed corn and lettuce salad too.
