cooking ahead for a crowd - will this work?

I need to provide a dinner for a large crowd (16-18). This will be for a beach week, so will not be in my own kitchen at the time. I was considering doing a baked bean casserole with hamburger meat. My thought was to mix the casserole ahead of time, put it in freezer bags, then freeze and take with me to the beach. After thawing my plan is to pour the bean and meat mixture into whatever pans are at the beach, cover with bacon slices, and cook.

Is there any reason this wouldn't work? The ingredients of the casserole are several different types of beans, hamburger, onions, and a sauce of molasses, catsup, dried mustard, brown sugar, etc. I was not planning to cook the casserole before freezing, just mix and then freeze.

What do y'all think?
