What's for dinner 1/18/11?

Tonight we're having open-faced Swiss steak sandwiches with gravy. Beets on the side and the last of the coconut cake for dessert.

Went to nearby country club for a women's lunch and talk by local author.

We had spinach salad with a smokey dressing
wild rice with mushrooms
chicken parmigana
fresh green beans slightly blanched

pecan pie with a dollop of cream and a strawberry half.

We are going to have rotisserie chicken, stuffing, cranberry sauce and green beans.

My creamed spinach Creamed spinach 2 packages frozen spinach, (10 oz each) 6 ounces cream cheese, softened ^^I use fat free 1/2 cup butter, melted, divided 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs Dash of nutmeg: optional PREPARATION: Thaw spinach and press or squeeze to remove excess water. Grease a casserole dish and set aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine the spinach, cream cheese, and 1/4 cup of melted butter and nutmeg. Spoon into casserole dish. Toss remaining butter with breadcrumbs and add to top of casserole Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Serves 4

Is sausage and cabbage/kraut supposed to bring good luck? That's the first I heard of it, here yesterday. We had spareribs. Will pork bring us luck, or does it have to be sausage? Beans and oven potatoes with the ribs.

Chinese take out. I felt guilty. Went to movies and had lunch at a Chinese restaurant next to theater. Told DH I'd bring home take out if he would like. Orange Beef, General Tsao's chicken, fried rice and hot and sour soup. Can't wait. The egg rolls are from the freezer. I made them a while back.
