What's for dinner 1/13/11?

Had a cold, cold trip to VA this morning. Just had to go to the clinic here in Ocala so Harry could "donate" more blood. He's back on Coumidin so that will be an ongoing trip. I dropped Harry off at the door and it's a good thing because the parking lot was just about full.

Still not feeling 100% plus I can't taste or smell, so I'm making cheeseburgers for dinner with Muenster cheese, onion, gaucamole and mayo. I have some nice French hamburger buns from Publix. We'll split the last of the good Harry and David pears and something else--which escapes me right now.

Over Easy for lunch. Newly opened restaurant. Specials are breakfast, but the FRIED BOLOGNA sandwich called out to me.

I made a creamy risotto with peas last night so I think that is what I am going to have for dinner. What I really want is a spicy "Licks" hamburger with all the works but I would have to walk to the store to get the frozen burgers and fixings. We don't have a Licks restaurant in town but we can get their frozen burgers.

I've got laundry to do today.

Just put frozen chicken breasts on to cook for chicken and dumplings.DDIL came in and asked if I had already planned supper and I told her what I was doing.She said she had been wanting spaghetti.Sooo,spaghetti is a lot easier,cook spaghetti,open jar of sauce,I'm done.Out of the kitchen a lot faster too.LOL So I will cook the chicken and have it tomorrow.I wasn't really in the mood to make dumplings anyway!

Chinese take out. I felt guilty. Went to movies and had lunch at a Chinese restaurant next to theater. Told DH I'd bring home take out if he would like. Orange Beef, General Tsao's chicken, fried rice and hot and sour soup. Can't wait. The egg rolls are from the freezer. I made them a while back.

Regarding Wed. - no idea. Regarding Thurs. - no idea. Prob. a bowl of soup, prob. with cheese on toast, then microwaved to melt. Maybe applesauce or piece of pie, coffee, milk. ole joyful ... whom some claim may be losing a little weight

There were 15 for dinner at my house today. Everyone brings something so it is pretty easy for me. I started my spaghetti sauce on Sat. morning about noon. I cook it in the oven in a big canning kettle. There is chicken, pork chops, hamburg, mild and hot Italian sausage in it. I cooked until 9 at night and then shut it off and left it alone. This morning I took out all the bones and stirred it really good. Put it back in the oven at about 250 to keep it hot. Dinner was around 2. I cooked 3 pounds of Angel Hair pasta. Jerri brought a huge salad with lots of great things in it. Judy and Jackie brought garlic bread. Millie brought wine coolers. Yelena brought Russian cake, she is from the Ukraine. Everything was wonderful, the ladies ate in the dining room and the guys ate out on the patio at our huge table. So much fun and everyone complimented on how good the spaghetti was. I hated to see everyone go home.

I have salisbury turkey simmering on the stove, potatoes in the oven baking, haven't decided on a vegetable yet.

But after reading the threads, I want a cheeseburger, a pear, a fried bologna sandwich and creamy risotto w/peas.

Pot roast, potatoes, carrots, and onions are in the crock pot. Should be finished when I get home from the office.

Afer thought: wish I had ordered a fried egg to go with my bologna sandwich. That's the way I loved them as a youngster.

A mac and cheese casserole with diced, roasted red and green peppers and the last of the leftover Christmas ham. It's been frozen since the 27th, so I'm finally looking forward to ham again. Broccoli as the side dish.

I have a big pot of corn soup with pork stew meat in it cooking on the stove right now. Will be great with these chilly temps.

Warmed up chili or warmed up meatloaf, baked potatoe and veggie. Whatever hubby desires. Both sound good to me...

Next week I am having all hubby's family in for ham, beans and cornbread. Sounds so yummy!!!! Fun evening, too.

Pepper Steak (ours is tomatoes,onions,garlic and green peppers etc) over rice. A loaf of bread in the oven baking and some sort of vegetable which I haven't given a thought to yet!

Leftover Chinese from last night, which DH brought home because he said if he didn't bring Chinese home, he knew I'd give him a hot dog for dinner (true). LOL

I made a frittata with Italian sausage, lots of onions, green peppers, Monterey Jack cheese, and Egg Beaters. It was very good--if I do say so, myself! Plus, there's a big slice left, which DH and I will share for lunch, tomorrow.

I haven't had a fried baloney sandwich in 30 years! It sounds pretty good!

I was so scattered today! Getting my boss' fiance's ring adjusted, finalizing the artwork for an order of 1500 custom rubik's cubes that we will be sending to prospective clients, and getting his travel for the next few weeks done.

We had Chinese for supper, I just didn't have time to cook today.

WE got a 20" snowfall overnight so its been hectic trying to dig out. Fortunately we had an adequate warning from the weather service ppl the night before so I made a huge pot of chilli in the crock pot.

It sure has been nice to go out there and mess with the snow a bit, then come in, pull the heavy clothes and boots off and warm up with a small bowl of chilli and a few cups of hot coffee.

Emi, and her boyfriend Josh, made a really tasty hot pasta salad dish. It was made with spaghetti, chicken, black olives, Parmesan cheese, and Italian dressing. They served it with garlic bread. It was very good.
