Suggestion: a slow, low-cost deer barrier
Comments (8)The fence runs across the property behind my garden from side to side. I have access to the back 200 ft. through two 10' tall archways, with lattice gates. I have left 1 foot (at the bottom) of the deer fence layed on the ground and covered with heavy 2' x 10' x 12"(cut to fit)cedar boards. These keep the fence anchored to the ground and cover the visible 12"s of fencing beneath them. Then the deer can't crawl under because the boards are far too heavy. Whew. Hope you can understand that.(and excuse spelling) I access my backyard from the front, through cedar gates, 6 ft tall topped lattice. Similar to the side fencing in this picture. Also note, there is no visible deer fence at the back....See MoreIroning Board
Comments (3)Thank you, cryptandrus. So it seems that the main difference in T-leg and 4 leg is the adjustability and then after that only quality matters? Generally I only iron when necessary and that has been turning out to be about 2 or 3 things a week these days---tablecloths and curtains from time to time, and touch ups of supposedly no-iron shirts or pants for DH. My SIL says she has only used a T-leg and she likes to adjust it very low and sit down to do her ironing but she does a lot of ironing. I can't imagine sitting to iron since for me it involves a lot of activity of reaching and placing the items properly on the ironing board. You have given me a lot to think about and I also want to thank you for bringing back memories of my mother's old wooden ironing board. I learned to iron on it back in the 50's and I haven't thought about it in years. It withstood a lot of ironing for a family of 7 and she still had it back in the 80's. I'll have to ask my sister what became of it....See MoreIdeas for ironing board system?
Comments (2)I saw one at Lowe's the other day. But do a google and check what's available. Below is a web site for a a board system that I haven't seen in person, so don't know what it really looks like, but I like the sales pitch. You might also check out a vacuum store. Sometimes they also sell these type of items. Here is a link that might be useful: ironing board...See MoreDo you have sturdy baking sheets and/or pans you love?
Comments (29)Jillius, I can recommend a dishwasher safe cookie sheet and jelly roll pan but you won't like the price. I have the Gold ones which are no longer made but will come up on ebay for about 6x what I paid for them 10years ago. My Gold Jelly roll pans did not have the handles of the newer aluminum finish. They are great pans. You can thank me later once you recover from the shock :-) I second the recommendation for Demeyere. I have a mix of Demeyere and All Clad. I prefer the Demeyere everytime. Mine is the Demeyere Sirocco which they no longer make. For storage, I use all glass containers. My favorites are the Glasslock. Lots of options on the manufacturer website for containers include round bowls, containers with handles, etc. Costco carries Glasslock and for the sets, it is a great value. I have spent enough of your money for today:-) Tomorrow, we can discuss Chopping Boards and Knives!!!! Good luck!...See MoreMarilyn Sue McClintock
