Lowe's no longer stocking tan rugged totes.
Comments (14)Around here HD recently had tan 37gal Roughneck containers for $14 and change. They are now back up to $17.47. I'm new to the container gardening thing this year, and plan on setting up at least 10 earthtainers and 10-20 5 gallon style SWC buckets. Winter project is assembling these. Picked up 1 set of the 37 gal and then quickly changed gears to the 18 gallon models. Picked up a few 18 gal $8 at HD. Noticed also Target has the Sterilite Ultra 18g allon containers on sale for $7. I don't know about the UV performance, but the build quality seems on par with the Roughneck line. These are also available in a bunch of different colors. Last year the local HD had a big sale on many different colors of 5 gallon buckets, I picked up a bunch at around $2.60 each. Those will be coverted to garden use this year and I am hoping the sale comes around again....See MoreLook at what I found at Lowe's today!!!
Comments (29)"It's easier to beg for forgiveness than to ask for permission". How true! Well played sir. "last weeks sproutings of WR's will overtake them in a few days!". Even funnier knowing it's true! You know there are some plams I really like but there just ain't no use gowing them cuz they do nothing, heres my short list-S.minor,T.nanus,C.humilus( a larger plant would probably remove this from the list but cold hardiness has to be factored in)Needle palms, these are hard to establish this far north but this is one I will probably keep trying as it is extremely hardy!Blue needle palm,I would like to try this again as I think my small one may have come back, they are very sloooow and I will replace with S.louisiana-anyway you get the point, this logic reverses when you consider something like a Washy, they may not be super cold hardy but they repay you with incredible growth!...See Morelow ceilings...paint color
Comments (2)In that situation, painting the ceiling and walls the same color is actually a classic color strategy. Painting all the angles and slopes and walls short and tall one color evens out the visual landscape of the room. That does a couple things: 1) It will make the room feel a bit more open and spacious because there aren't a bunch of lines drawn around the room where ceiling/wall colors meet. 2) The light will play on those angles and slopes no matter the color. When you use all one color, the shadows and different angles of reflection create a rather neat-o color effect. Just as interesting as using a different color on the ceiling but one color is a more sophisticated approach. Because it speaks to the fact that you knew light would play a part and you knew to just keep it simple and let the phenomena of color & light do all the work....See MoreMy rug budget is low, but I’d still like the whole thing!
Comments (27)Hi Jinx, Not sure if you are venting cat stuff (can relate!) or if you really do want to get a rug on a budget... We have a cat, used to have catS and we live in the dirty woods. I have a real Persian rug that can handle the cat (all our animals over the years prefer to yak and have accidents on the authentic Persian rug, not the $60 walmart special right next to it). But I had to replace our $60 wm special, which I really did adore. After much head scratching and searching, I found this on Wayfair a year or so ago. 5x9 and a matching 3x5 rug for nearby. Both for under $200 with free shipping. It came in many different color combos and also many different patterns and sizes. It's adequate quality for our needs what with woods living and cat who thinks we don't know she angry scratches it at night when we are sleeping. I put my price limits in the search engine and I sifted through about 500+ offerings. I felt pretty good about the purchase and still do. If my authentic Persian FIL saw the new rugs he would be upset, but he doesn't have to live in the woods and worry about a good rug. The new robot vacuum can handle the fringe but does do "that" to it (shown in photo). I'm fine with it. I have so many other things to clean and take care of I found out I don't care if the fringe is a little out of sorts. Anyhow, it's good enough and I don't have to worry about it between dirt and cat activities. I think we'll get quite a few years out it and when the shown side gets yucky, I'll turn it around and start fresh again with the side that lives under the ottoman and chair. :)...See Morejust-a-pb
