Lou, thanks for the birthday serenade. A BIG thank you to rest of you for the good wishes! I had, maybe the best birthday ever. When you're my age they're all the best, I guess. LOL Monday night, my middle daughter invited us for barbeque supper, Yesterday 3 of my nieces, one of whom lives on the lake invited us for lunch and Fisherman Bob got to fish while we visited. Fished 2 hours and a half, got one bite, but thoroughly enjoyed it. We almost overstayed our welcome, I think. Lunch tomorrow with son and his wife and daughter. Still have a dinner with Bob waiting in the wings. It's been a whirlwind 3 weeks. Mother's day followed by our 50th Anniversary, a short trip to Charleston....I always love going there... and then the birthday. Guess I'll take a backseat now, to Father's Day. Thanks again, everyone You're the greatest! jude

I had a great birthday! Daughters #2 and #3 wanted to take me to lunch yesterday but I preferred today and it was wonderful! DH is feeling better so he went with us.I had am appetizer that was smoked salmon on potato cakes, 4 of them, with red onion, capers etc. Ate 2 brought the other 2 home for later. We had a little bubbly to celebrate and the restaurant brought creme brulee with a candle. If I had to pick a favorite dessert that would be it, besides apple pie, that is. I find that depends on what the rest of the meal is and today it was perfect! Worked in the garden this afternoon trying to straighten up corn that had blown over and tying up some of the tomato plants and also gettin the beans in a position for them to climb the fence. That required cutting a very long cane of bamboo and cutting the foliage off. This farming is new to me but I'm gettin there. Bob is not physically able to do it anymore. Pocked the first ripe tomato that we'll have with hamburgers in just a little while. jude

Anele...with all you have going on I am so pleased you found this thread and sent your wishes. Thank you ! DH is a special guy. If it weren't for him I know I wouldn't be meditating and that has led to so much more as far as my piece of mind....which he then benefits from. A win/win situation for sure. I am so glad to hear from you and look forward to news of the new little girl when she arrives. c

Thanks for the birthday wishes! This is the 5-0 birthday for me and it's just hard for me to believe it! After yesterday though, I'm FEELING it! LOL The house my boys lived in when they were in college is going on the market today so I was over there painting the kitchen cabinets and staging the bathrooms (cleaned them spic-n-span first). Oh my, I have soreness in places I didn't even know I had places! It probably didn't help that I came home and practically guzzled a bottle of wine while in the hot tub! So I guess 49 went out with a bang and 50 is coming in with a whimper. :-)

Oh y'all, it has been a wonderful day! Started out with plans to meet Tracy, middle daughter, for lunch, but when I got there my other 2 daughters, one from out of town, were there, as well as my best friend. Total surprise!!!

We ate at this really nice little French cafe, downtown, that specializes in crepes. Did a little shopping afterwards at Mast General Store anad another little shop downtown.

Had a bunch of phone calls, emails, got cash,(my favorite shade of green), gift cards and some nice gifts. This was not the year for mulch..lol

I never dreamed turning eight "0" would be so much fun!

Thank you, one and all, for your good wishes.

jude

P.S. David this little energizing bunny just ran out of "juice". What a wonderful day it has been!
