I have such a gripe--why in the world do they wait until 8:30 to start "The Game" of the year? And why on a Monday night? Bad planning if you ask me. I know I won't be awake for the end of it. Hmmph!

Made a delcious beef stew today...with enough for tomorrow too.

I had chicken patties, along with a potato and leftover peas.

Maybe I needed some of brightonborn's stew to warm me up.

Today was our church dinner around noon. This evening for supper I fixed baked cod, peas, mac and cheese, cottage cheese, Hawaiian rolls, hummingbird cupcake and a mini cherry pie. I only had the first 4 and water to drink.

Sunday has arrived. :0)

I made soup in the crock pot. White beans, barley, brown rice, carrots and ham. Then served with crusty white rolls and real butter.

Went to lunch and movies today with some lady friends. Saw Les Miserable. It was good but very, very long....barely made it to the Ladies Room. LOL Tonight I had pork, applesauce, mashed potatoes and corn. Sound familiar? I had a lot left over because I always make too much. Froze the rest of the pork because DH decided to go on a diet and eat nothing but salad. We'll see how long that lasts.

The dinner party went real well Patti. I was a little nervous about it because none of the couples knew one another. It turned out to be a very pleasant evening. PHEW!

OK! I will admit it I hate to cook~~~you all make me look bad. Plus DH being a meat eater and me being a vegetarian.
DH is recover from his shoulder surgery like a crazed bear roaming the house~~~I am getting out tomorrow if I have to make up something to do!

Now as for dinner~~~he will get leftovers from last night or maybe I will fluff them up and make them look better. As for me I will graze~~~I think I have an emergency frozen veggie dinner I can zap;;)

Brightonborn, I think we would all love some of your beef stew!! That does sound comforting on a cold night.

Shirley, is it still really cold up there? Your chicken patties would be nice on a cold night! Peas are always good at our house.

Nicole, Harry would love your soup--he's a big fan of barley. What would we do without our crockpots?

Georgysmom, it's better to have too much food than not enough. Someday, I'll learn how to cook for four. (We like leftovers.) Glad your friends all got along well and your evening went so well.

YogaLady, you're so funny!! Cooking isn't always fun, but a necessity anyway. Bah! Is your DH doing okay since the surgery? Let us know how you "fluff up" those leftovers ;-)

We had enchilada casserole.

Nicole what if any spices do you use in your soup?? Do you use a flavored broth?? I think I could do that in the crock pot~~then divide it up at the end and add my left over Christmas ham for DH~~~and throw in some Temph in my half~~~I would use veggie broth?
