Sharon and Clive visit the Michigan contingent (pictures!)

Well, I have A picture. LOL We were so busy talking and drinking wine and solving the problems of the world, I didn't take too many, but I did get one of Sherry and Sharon:

And one of Clive, setting up the camera and timer on a tripod. He's got technology!!!

Sharon made me pinkie swear that I wouldn't bring a gift because they're on a 6 week road trip in a Thunderbird and there was no room, so I didn't. At least, not a gift for her, I did manage a retirement gift for Clive. It's small, takes up little space and is useful. Yup, it was a gift card to Starbucks. I figured Sharon could at least get a cup of tea there and they are EVERYWHERE.

Sherry doesn't listen as well, LOL, she brought me a couple of cupcake holders to carry in lunch boxes. Makayla and I had just been discussing the fact that she needed one so the frosting on her cupcakes didn't get all messed up, she's going to be so excited. So, there's one for her and one for me!

She brought Sharon a pancake mold. Clive says he loves pancakes, so this will be really useful. You can make stackable pancakes that can be filled, very cool:

OK, the food. I had an order of calamari, which was shared with the table. Sharon had never had calamari, and she said she thought it was good. I love the stuff and it's always good at Pietro's:

I also had a small order of Pasta Al Fresco, a whole wheat spaghettini cooked in chicken broth and tossed with fresh vegetables and parmesan:

The guys both had the lasagna:

Sharon had manicotti (I think):

And Sherry had the veal, I think it was a piccata, but it might have been a scalloppini:

Sharon had a vodka martini, Clive had Johnnie Walker on the rocks. Then we had a bottle of wine, which Sherry, Sharon, Clive and I split, Roger abstained. He's such a nice guy, leaving it all for us, LOL. No one had room for dessert.

We yakked and gossiped and talked about how Sharon nearly got detained at the border trying to smuggle in illicit fruit. (grin) Ask her about it....

We stayed and talked for about 3 hours and didn't want to leave. It was like we were old friends, and really, we are. It felt like we'd known each other forever, and really, we have.

The last I saw of Sharon she was sitting in the passenger seat of a black Thunderbird convertible with the wind blowing in her hair and she was singing "I get my kicks on Route 66".

The food was good, the company was better. It was a great night, and I can hardly wait to visit them at the cottage.

Drive carefully, Sharon and Clive, and thanks for a very memorable evening. I'll be watching for the rest of the pictures.

Annie
