Gosh, you are way ahead of us. That Iris is so pretty! I do have a lot blooming at the moment. My azaleas are just balzing with color and my tree peony is blooming. I'll snap some pictures tomorrow.

I think Sharon and Clive will be so taken with your home and river to notice that the flowers are past blooming.

I have the same orchids - they seem to bloom most of the year. Right now I have orchid cactus about to bloom, but I don't expect Sharon to visit my house!

Gorgeous magnolia! I love your agapanthus. I'm going to plant one this year. After 6 years, I've gotten a handle on our site's micro-climates & I'm pretty sure I can get them to winter. Have a great visit with Sharon & Clive!

Our early spring bulbs are history although I've still got n. 'Sundisc' at peak. PJMs are finished but the early rhoddies are open. My daphne will be at peak by the weekend. It's starting to release its perfume this morning. The early flowering trees are just about finished except crap apples. They've got another week to flower drop. The pink dogwoods opened this weekend...beautiful this year. Kousa dogwoods won't bloom until June. Oh, my v. 'Shasta' is just showing color. That's my absolute favorite shrub. Iris cristata are in bloom. Also several types of phlox. Oh, I almost forgot...the China rose (kerria) is stunning right now as are the lilacs! Helebores, brunnera, dicentra, hardy geraniums, aguga, pulmonaria, corydalis, lunaria, Solomon's seal, epimediums, podophyllum, & lots of other stuff. The tall bearded iris are in bud as are the roses. Lots more azaleas & rhoddies that will open in sequence over the next 4 weeks.

Oh I love looking at plant photos. Karen you have some lovelies in your garden. I'm sure Sharon and Clive will be quite impressed with what you have growing there.
Agapanthus should still bloom for a long time yet I think. That little iris is so pretty. I have a couple of clumps of those given to me by a friend.
We didn't know what it was at first but after some closeup study of the flowers we figured it was iris.

Lars those epiphyllums are among my favourite flowers. We also have them growing as a large cactus climbing over a wall. The short-life blooms are wonderful.

Annie I do miss bleeding hearts as they used to be in my home garden when I was a kid. My friends and I were fascinated tht little hearts could grow on a plant.
I also love tulips but they won't grow here. Pretty almond blossoms.

I go around the garden with my camera every morning.

St. Fiacre with his little plant and shovel (Patron Saint of Gardeners) makes much more sense than St Francis who is bringing a bunch of bunnies and deer in to eat up your garden!

I started at the bottom of this thread so naturally when I saw the frogs I thought it was Shaun's post. Although I think Grace's are toads and Shaun's friends frogs.

Lars, those are just what I imagine when I think "tropical flowers", they are beautiful.

RR, somehow I know those magnolias smell as beautiful as they look.

SharonCB, everything is so beautiful there, it seems like you live in a garden.

Grace, I won't have blueberries for a couple of months but I already hear the frogs singing here at night.

*sniff* we didn't plant our garden this year. We've been too busy, and I also feel with the impending California drought and anticipated water rationing it would have been irresponsible. I'll enjoy all of yours!

Thanks Peppi! The previous owner of this place planted all kinds of things at random....everywhere. So I've been guessing with a lot of things this past year or so. Like I mentioned, they have this year to do something then it's time to clean out and organize my beds.

I just love seeing everyones flowers and gardens. Grace you really got me with the toads. LOL.. I could see in the first pic the mating pair but the youngster was a shock. Chuckling. It's so cool that they chose that nice thick patch of moss.

I just took these pics of my chinese red wisteria the other day. I love the pink blossoms. I planted a thornless honey locust for it to grow up with and it sure has done that and then some. It is a wisteria after all. This is too many pics I'm sure, but I want to give you an idea of the scope of it.

I love Wisteria but it doesn't like us. In a very short period of time it will take over everything in it's path. It was kind of sad when a hurricane came a blew down the main trees it was growning on.

I left my gardens with the Bleeding Hearts well up but not flowered and the Geraniums, Hosta and Spiderwort and peonies, saying hello . My native Gardens , Trilliums, May Apples, Wind Flowers , Solomon's Seal etc will be gorgeous right now but long gone when I get home.

As much as I am loving this trip I miss spring in my gardens.

I love looking at everyone's garden pictures too. Grace that's a lovely Tiffany rose and I think St.Fiacre would be a nice addition to any garden.

David I do miss peonies and a spring garden. That iris is beautiful. One year I brought bulbs back from Canada for that variety of iris but those elegant hybrids just don't grow here because of the climate. We do get a few simple white or purples to survive but not he big showy ones.

Coconut your wisteria is stunning. I planted some here over ten years ago in our garden and last year it gave a few flowers. It will grow on this island but it needs a slightly cooler garden. Beautiful! I love all mauve and purple flowers and branches of hanging wisteria remind me so much of Vancouver, where I used to live.

Chase you're lucky to be able to grow trilliums....my favourite spring wildflower. As a kid I'd go with friends into woods near our house and look for trilliums and pussywillows.
When we found them, we knew spring had arrived.
