I found hubby a North Face shirt today, 2 other name brand shirts and the evil (inherited) cat one of those toys that has a spinning fake mouse in it. My whole bill was $12.
Have picked up a pair of Clark's clogs and a pair of Clark's shoes two different occasions. One pair was $4 and one was $8. All from local Goodwills.

I went to Goodwill today and found an electric blanket, some clear boxes to store shoes in, a wooden curtain rod, a candle making kit, rabbit fur cuffs to wear with sweaters and 6 big velvet draw string bags, like used for wine - all for $14 - quite a bargain, imho!

I got 4 fabulous quilting magazines today at a thrift shop AND I just won an ebay auction for 29 issues of a great quilting magazine that is no longer published. Got a great deal, even with shipping. Woot!

Food deals? Nothing lately, it's all going up, up, up.

Been watching the Goodwill auction for a pair of Pikolinos boots that ended today. The boots are made in Spain and just so nice. Snagged them for $46.00. I didn't have to pay full price which can be as much as $250.00. So happy.

I picked up a down filled winter jacket today at WalMart for $49. It says 50% duck down, 50% other fowl....so I will see over the next few cold days how well this will keep me warm? If it doesn't, it will go back!

I bought slippers at Target for $2.08 today. They also had lots of mens sweaters 70% off.

Went to the produce store. Green grapes $1.58/lb, grape tomatoes $1.25 pt, local strawberries $2 qt. blackberries 3/$5, cukes 50�, feta cheese $3.99/lb-cant remember what I paid for the rest.

Went to Goodwill yesteerday and bought nothing.

Got some freebies at CVS. Used a $3 of 3 Nabisco items coupon on their $1 cookies in a cup. No size restrictions on the coupon. Got 2 Oreos and one Teddy Graham.

Also found a head of cauliflower for $1.49 so bought 2 of them, grape tomatoes for $1.19/pint, quart of fresh green beans for $1.00, and cukes 3/$1, oh and bags of salad for $.50!!

I bought a brand new pair of propet sneakers for $ 14 at Tuesday Morning. They are so comfortable.

Yep, found two bar stools on CL for $25 that intrigued me. Upon researching, I found they are USA made and sell for over $740 each (list over $1K each) to upscale resorts and very rich people (what average person would spend that kind of moola). Last Sunday my sister and BIL invited me over to take anything of his dad's that they were giving away to charity that day. His dad is in his 90s and just moved to assisted living and on top of that has had an infection and been in a rehab for that for weeks. They want to get his townhouse ready to rent since they are paying for two facilities right now.

I mainly went over because I needed some lamps and she said they had some. I came home with a very nice floor/reading lamp, another nice table lamp, a 27-inch television (not a flat screen but it will replace my main tv that was so old it had a turn volume/on/off dial and a wood grain finish), an electric frying pan, a Braun immersion blender set, and some assorted other things. It took the edge off of my yard sale withdrawal.

I found roast for $3 last week. We had roast one night, burritos with it the next and beef stew the next. The kids loved all three meals which is always a bonus.

I found four kids books for $.45 each at the thrift store yesterday.

Also bought two really soft throw blankets at Sears for $5.99 each. Now each kid has a throw they can carry around the house. No more excuses for the blankets to be off of the beds.

10% cream at $0.99 for 500 ml (1/2 pint, more or less).

I went to the flea market sunday and got a 40lb bag of huge Idaho potatos for $12, 6 large heads of cauliflower for $.75ea and 6 heads of Brocholi for $.50/lb

On the way home we stopped at a local discount supermarket and I found a 12lb boneless pork loin roast for $1.25/lb. (It was about 7" in diameter and nearly 2.5ft long so I cut that in thirds making two nice roasts and the third roast I cut into 8 loin chops.)

But my best find for the day was at Goodwill. I found a telephoto lens for my PENTAX DSLR camera that normally sells for $600 on the used market and I got that for $14.

I found a spinning wheel on CL. I have been pricing them thinking I might want a different kind some day. It is hand made, not in production any more, and originally sold for $450. I got it for $150!! It does need some tlc, and a bit of work, but it spins a nice yarn. My DH always has great deals fall in his path, so I guess it was my turn!

Boy - you all got some nice bargains!! I love those candle holders and oh that mirror...lucky!
Went to Ollie's today and bought a pet portrait painting kit - complete with book and paints for $2.99 and The Biggest Loser Cookbook for $4.99.
Have been searching for a country line dance dvd - but no luck - yet.
I notice a lot of yard sale people getting their fixes at the thrift stores these days.

I've got a lot of free books on my Kindle in the last few weeks.

I must say the KTers get themselves some pretty impressive bargains! Our Craigslist isn't usually all that tempting.

This morning my DS came over to tell me he bought a nice charcoal grill on clearance at Home Depot last night for $35. He thought I might like one too. I took a look at it, and I was impressed: Char-Broil, nice size, large cooking surface, complete with chimney, door in front to manage the charcoal, enamel-coated cast-iron grates, etc. For $35???

So I drove off to HD and snagged the last one they had left. The man who got the box into a cart for me (it's heavy!) couldn't believe it was only $35, and had to find an employee with a scanner to verify the price. He was shaking his head. Then I took it to the cashier, who said, "You've gotta be kidding me!" when she saw the price. So I think I got my Bargain of the Year rather early. :-)

If I could fit a grill in my car I'd be on my way to all the local HD's to see if I could find the same deal. The grill was one of those things I left behind in the divorce just because I ran out of time and energy on moving day.

It was in a box, Paula--but a pretty big box. It fit in the back of my SUV....not sure if it would have fit in the back seat, but I'm thinking probably not. :-(

I want to shop with you guys. I never find bargains. Right now I'm in a "buy nothing except essentials" mode. We need to eat what we have and need to use what we already own.

But I have to say, if I'd seen Lynn's candlesticks, I would've folded. Those are just beautiful, Lynn.

No food deals here either. Not even on citrus or strawberries which are both in right now. What a rip-off!

I'm a coupon clipper, so I always find bargains. Three weeks ago me, my mom and my sister went to the Dollar General Store and when we checked out we all got a coupon for the following Saturday, it was for $5 off any $25 purchase. They didn't want theirs so they gave them to me. So true, I did have to buy $75 worth of merchandise, by the time I used the $15 in store coupons and then $23 in coupons that I clipped, I got $82 worth of stuff for $46. So I was a happy camper. I got another coupon for $5 off $25 good for next Saturday. I like free money.
