Happy New Year Folkvictorian! We won't be a sleep but we'll be cozy and warm at home drinking a cordial and watching the ball drop.

The food I could not live without is a P&J sandwich. But it has to have crunchy Jiff peanut butter and seedless raspberry jam and be on soft fresh bread. Yum.

Dark Chocolate. I have some squirreled away in little nooks here and there just in case it's needed. From October to March, there's some in the glove box and I usually keep a piece or two in each coat/jacket pocket. Okay, so I have a problem.

Happy New Year, Everyone. We have a 50% chance of being at my brother's NYE party. (The other option is ringing in the New Year in my cozy fleece pjs.)

I can't single out one food item that I would miss above all others because there is always an alternative I like. I love my morning coffee but could switch to tea. I love and sometimes crave chocolate but banana cream pie would fill in nicely. I adore Cheetos, but anything crunchy is a great substitute.

However, the minute you tell me I can't have something, then I can't stop thinking about it. And if you mention a food, then I must have it. Those tastings stations at Costco are made for people like me.

Peanut Butter, it's a basic for me.

I used to think I could not live without dairy. Milk, ice cream, yogurt, cheese, ice cream (did I say that already???). Then my son developed a very strong intolerance to it while breastfeeding and I had to cut not only obvious sources of dairy out of my diet but all sources, which meant reading labels and cutting out most processed foods as well - for over a year. I somehow survived. He still can't have dairy directly but I can have some in my diet at least. I made creme brulee for dessert at our NYE dinner. :-9 I hope number 2 can tolerate it because it is hard, even with substitutes. I still use rice milk in my cereal because I am still very cautious about how much dairy I consume and liquid milk is the worst offender.

Coffee, if it counts as a food. Can't live without it, and none of that caffeine free coffee- that stuff can kill you!! LOL

Coffee and yes, cooper, death before decaf. I am a salt lover verses a sweet tooth. I can do without potato chips for only so long. Good cheese is another one of my downfalls.

Duck.

I can't decide between carbs, meat or sweets.

I have been wracking my brains, well kinda, to think of what food I couldn't live without. No luck, I will need to stick to my first answer, coffee.

I am 4 days sober from my chocolate addiction. It was so bad that we kept a small lock box in the kitchen. Any chocolate that accidently slipped into the house went into it. My husband kept the key for me.

Other than that, my foods are all seasonal. During the summer the two of us eat 2-3 watermellons a week. Right now, we are eating a lot of grapefruit... 4-5 a day, each! Maybe salads would be mine? Without one or two salads day I would be very sad.

And pizza with spinach and tomato seasoned with garlic! Yumm!

Nope, nothing I haven't told you. Just thinking ahead. I had some egg nog this year (could not last year - silk nog was a poor sub), I had some real ice cream yesterday and creme brulee today. It would be REALLY hard to give it all up my daily yogurt and cheese and go back to reading labels like a maniac.

You know, I'm just not sure. I think I'd have to go with garlic. (must be the Italian in me!) Other than that I'd say Diet Pepsi...yes, I confess, I am utterly addicted to DP.

It used to be chocolate, but I am pretty sure it is a migraine trigger for me. So, I guess I'd have to say coffee. And yes, I am in the DBD camp!

lisa we went gluten free in the house for DS at one point. I can literally feel your pain at giving up any milk because like gluten it's in EVERYTHING! Thank god that is over LOL Gluten free bread is umm well it's like buttering a brick when it's toasted, which is better than when it's not toasted...it's like buttering a granite slab then. YUCK

I had a secretary once who had to give up danged near everything when pregnant. Mid pregnancy she went to rice, rice milk, chicken and plain salad and she felt much better. The baby was born with many many allergies which she still has today. Good news lisa...baby two was quite the opposite...I'll hope the same for you in the future!

Let's see....The first thing that popped into my head was steak. Medium Rare Tenderlion...many other meats are good...but a really good steak cooked perfectly is hard to beat. Duck would come in close second. there isn't much that comes close as far as I've experienced. It's a unique flavor...and of course needs a good pinot noir with it, so I guess I'd best add pinot noir to my "can't live without it" :o)

Parma want to come to dinner...I think we'll have duck and pinot...and maybe some silly vegi so we feel healthy as well heh heh

Pasta. I'd have a serious case of withdrawal if I had to give it up. We eat it at least 3 times a week and I've been making my own, which is heaven on earth. Even the thought....gads!

Dark chocolate, fresh garden tomatoes (that's only 3 months of the year), pasta, and wine (I know it's not a food, but gives me something to look forward to at the end of the week).

Pesky, I used to share your Diet Pepsi addiction. When I was married, my ex and I used to drink so much of it I thought we'd glow in the dark from all the artificial sweetener! What couldn't I live without? Well, it'd be hard to look down the road and never see a piece of super dark chocolate, tea with milk, natural peanut butter, ice cream, creme brulee, grilled hamburgers....

I couldn't live without the Maryland crab feast experience. Tons of steamed crabs, beer, silver queen corn on the cob, lots of family and friends spending hours upon hours eating, drinking, getting messy, and having fun. Just kill me if I can't do that again.

On a daily basis, Diet Coke in a bottle (NOT canned or fountain) or in my favorite sippy cup, and fresh fruit. It's my power breakfast :)
