How lucky you got an invite! I'm still waiting on mine...

It's faster if you have a friend invite you instead of applying. Email a friend and have them do the inviting from their page, you should be accepted within a matter of a few hours.

1. Is your window open as far as it will go (left to right)? I have five pictures on my top row and most below. Only if someone posts something tall does it shift to four pictures.

2. Top right, click on your name. New page comes up. Now look to left side of page under your name. Will say "X Follower, X Following" Click on either of those to see lists.

3. Pinterest will automatically assign other to follow you and you to follow others. I HATE this part! You can spend X amount of time unfollowing Boards/People you have no interest in. They do base it on your pins, but early on they can make no sense.

4. Main page, click on "Everything" (right under the red color Pinterest. (A window pops up underneath with categories, but ignore unless you want to click on one of them.

They assign you to follow boards too (based on your likes and posts) - unless they've changed recently. I sent an email or posted on something hoping they would see. HATE that part!

I also have a question. I want to join and asked for an invite. They emailed me back with the invite but from a facebook account. I do not have Fb and do not want it.
How can I join

I have a twitter acct. too, but I don't like twitter. So I'm using my FB.

Lyban, you might end up liking FB also. One nice thing about having a FB acct. with Pinterest is you can see which FB "friends" are on Pinterest also.

I've had nothing but fun with FB.

Today Pinterest isn't letting me post any pictures! They go through until the end, then it says they couldn't find the page.

I get tickled when I see who repinned something I have. I just wish I can tell who did it!

To see who repinned, click on your picture (to make it large, only photo on page) and scroll down to see the list. You can also set your settings to email you when someone repins or comments on one of your pictures.

I read instructions but it seemed like it was for people who have their own websites.

This is kind of sad. You know I've been collecting (mostly inherited) depression glass all my life. Well, I did a board for "Depression Glass." As I was looking at all these wonderful pictures it dawned on me I'm SICK of depression glass and now I want to box up all of it from the kitchen! lol.

On the top/right of window, go to the left of your name to "About" scroll to the first item on the drop down list "Help." Left side of screen, go to "Goodies."

When I click on "Goodies" the page is NOT starting at the top.... I have to scroll UP to see "Pin It Button." There is a video you can watch also. I think you have to use Firefox in order to have the button. If you don't have Firefox you should get it.

I did download it via AOL. But it's nowhere to be seen. lol. I have Internet Explorer but I never use it. I followed the instructions though, but now I have no clue where it is or how I use it.

Ok, I've decide I'm Pinterest challenged. I got accepted after about 2 weeks, so you need to try again mjsee. I went to the Goodies page and I think I did everything right as far as adding the "Pin It" button, but I don't see it anywhere? Is it supposed to be in my Toobar somewhere? Once it's there, if I want to link to a recipe on another webpage, would I just click the "Pin It" button? What if I just want to link to a picture and not the whole website? How does it know which one I want to pin?

One more question....when I find a recipe I like on Pinterest, I click on Repin and it brings up a little box and I click Pin It and nothing happens. When I went back to my saved Pins, there was nothing there.

Where are you saving it - on what Board? It should be there.

I think I have to be signed in my email in order for the Pin It button to be on my Yahoo toolbar.

When you are on a website and want to pin a picture, you click the Pin It button. A window pops up with all the pictures from that webpage and you click/pin the one you want to pin on one of your Boards.

Allison - Well, I figured out I couldn't save it to a board, because I hadn't created any boards. Duh! When I signed up, they asked me to select some of my interest. I thought I was creating boards based on those interest.

Oak, I tried following the instructions to install the pin it button, but it wouldn't work for me. What I ended up doing is going to the 'ABOUT' section, and when it showed the page for adding the pin it button, I just right clicked on the icon, then got that crosshairs looking thing and moved it to my tool bar, dropped it there and now I have it. On my tool bar it shows as a moon and says Pin It.

When I've got a website I want to save, I click the Pin It moon and then a bunch of pictures show up. I click the picture I want, click Pin It again and it then opens up a dialogue box for a place for me to save it. I just chose any choice then go in later and edit my boxes to what I want in them.

I'm so freaking hooked on Pinterest. Right now I'm obsessed with all the DIY natural cleaners. Haven't even begun to explore all the decorating much less garden sites. Ohhhh my, wonder if they're going to set up 12 step programs for Pinterest addicts?

Allison, I have no clue where it showed up. Like I said, I use AOL and it's not in my icons. Maybe it showed up on IE? I never use it IE though.

roselvr, just click on the place where it says to, and PINTEREST will send you the invite. Just watch your spam folder. I thought maybe I wasn't 'good enough' for them LOL because I never got an invite, despite three attempts, and two of my girlfriends got invited immediately. Then I looked in my JUNK folder, and there it was...two months old...

Rose, email me and I'll send you an invite. It's much faster that way.
