I know many of you use Pinterest, but I find it frustrating. For example, I am searching for new and different appetizers. When I search that specifically, I get a series of pictures, but no recipes!! When I click on the photo, I usually get who pinned this picture,but no details. What am I missing?? I am not a registered member in Pinterest-does that make a difference?

There should be a resource listed below the pic. Click on the info and hopefully it will take you to a blog, etc. for what you are after.

One of the things which has changed significantly is companies using Pinterest. I read an article describing the percentages of increased sales using the site. Just a heads up if you land at an advertising link. Advertisers have icons for pinning.

The only thing I get frustrated with is when there are a bunch of pins of the same thing and no clue who may have grabbed the pic or from where. But I still find Pinterest a great resource of info. Most of the blogs are using it, dig a little to find one that is using it for your interest. Their link is usually included at the bottom of photo.

I'm not sure why you are not able to access the recipe and perhaps it is because you are not a member? I just opened a few to test. I search soups and get a page of pictures of different soups, pick one, click, it opens larger, then I click the larger picture and am taken to the recipe on the originating site. works for me every time. Have you used that sequence?

BN, Need more information. 1. Is this for vegetables? The picture I believe shows a tomato plant. 2. What is your experience using this system? 3. How often do you water? 4. How many plants are you using this system on? 5. What is the hole spacing? or how many holes per bottle? 6. What size are the holes in the bottle? 7. Thanks all. I was just supremely annoyed when I saw the Pinterest link yesterday....was hasty in saying I was leaving the forum. Oak, I tried following the instructions to install the pin it button, but it wouldn't work for me. What I ended up doing is going to the 'ABOUT' section, and when it showed the page for adding the pin it button, I just right clicked on the icon, then got that crosshairs looking thing and moved it to my tool bar, dropped it there and now I have it. On my tool bar it shows as a moon and says Pin It. When I've got a website I want to save, I click the Pin It moon and then a bunch of pictures show up. I click the picture I want, click Pin It again and it then opens up a dialogue box for a place for me to save it. I just chose any choice then go in later and edit my boxes to what I want in them. I'm so freaking hooked on Pinterest. Right now I'm obsessed with all the DIY natural cleaners. Haven't even begun to explore all the decorating much less garden sites. Ohhhh my, wonder if they're going to set up 12 step programs for Pinterest addicts?

Just like dlm200 said. You don't have to be a member to access.

I love pinterest and recipes is just one reason. Because of that particular reason, my husband also likes pinterest. haha

I have great luck with most things on Pinterest but it seems some recipes will take you to a place that links you to the recipe. Because of this I always check the link before I Pin anything. For more recipes I wind up snipping the photo and recipe and my a digital recipe card that I save on my computer.

I have noticed that too, ratherbesewing, that usually you will be brought to the site with the recipe, but oftentimes, there is no recipe and it is just a photo of the food. The pin I have linked below is driving me crazy - this cake looks so good but I cannot find the recipe anywhere! I kind of wish people woudn't post pics of food without including the recipe! Two boards I follow, Italian Summers and Zsa Zsa Bellagio rarely include the recipes.

I did a Google search of that image - comes up in many places , many languages and seems to be associated with a few different recipes. See if this helps - you'll have to do some digging in the different sites and some translating!

If you want a good laugh, search the web for "Pinterest fails". People post pictures of their Pinterest crafts and cooking that end up looking nothing like the original photo.
