How often would you have to refill the water on the dryer? I would think that it has a large enough container for several loads and you'd probably not use the steam option all the time anyway. I would look into that before I'd cancel the order again. After all, you probably don't have too many other options if you want a steam w/d set...

LG's "Steam Feeder Drawer" is located in the upper left corner on the front of the dryer,
much like the washer detergent drawers on most FL's

Is your set going tobe on wood or concrete?

Went to the store today and got the best set that was non-steam. The steam feeder drawer was much too difficult to reseat every time without a step stool and we decided it just wasn't worth the extra money to buy it without using it. The store is delivering the new set Friday. They happened to find one in stock in the store and just sent me a gift card for my trouble. I think I had previously dealt with a salesman in the store who was just covering the appliance department and really wasn't sure about the things he was telling me. I think this set is meant to be.
It will be on a wooden floor. It is an outside wall, in a corner with direct venting. If it is installed properly, according to the LG trained associate, I should have very little vibration. I am planning on adding some short support beams to the joists in the basement under the set anyway. I hope this works!!!!

Well, my new stackable W/D was delivered this morning. The dryer has a dent on the side that we didn't notice until the installers had it stacked. It was a pain to get hooked up as the space is very shallow, but it really fits in well and gives me room on the other side of my laundry sink for shelving now. When I used the washer though, it was making this horrible metal on ,metal thumbing sound. The drivers had just left, but heard it over the phone and said it sounded as if I had gotten a machine that they tested in the warehouse, where they sometimes forget to disconnect the shipping bolts before testing. they don't like to disconnect and then reconnect them. My new new new washer is being delivered tomorrow morning. the poor delivery guys now have to uninstall all of the machines and redo everything.

The machines do work beautifully though. I can do 2 loads of wash in the time it would normally take me to do one very small one. I really think I made a good choice in going to a front loader. Even with a semi broken washer, the clothes look cleaner and take less than half the time to dry. Everything I put in the washer I can put in one dryer load. No more splitting up loads to fit in the dryer. I know it won't pay for itself in money as they were much more expensive than regular top loaders, but they will pay for themselves in time. I will be doing half the loads I normally do.
I really don't see a real steep learning curve either. The quick start card that is laminated is very easy to understand and the manual gives many helpful hints. Customer service was also very easy to reach.

Congrats on your new machines!

One thing delivery teams do to save time is to remove the shipping bolts ahead of time. At least for the Kenmore/Whirlpool models, they recommend that they are not removed until the washer is within 3 feet of where it will be installed.

The shipping bolts hold the inner tub steady during shipping, as the bouncing inner tub could damage the suspension. When I bought my washer from Sears, I asked that the special instruction be placed on the order to not remove the bolts until the washer was in the house. Even then, when I answered the door for the delivery, one guy was working on removing the bolts in the truck. I asked that they wait until the machine is in the house. They thought I was nuts, but did it.

You may want to ask that the delivery guys to wait until the new washer is next to where it will be installed before removing the bolts. I also donÂt think it is a good idea to run the washer with the shipping bolts attached.

My nearly 5 year old HE3t FL washer is very steady during the high speed spin, despite it being on a wood floor over a basement. When I hear of others having vibration problems even after carefully adjusting the feet, I can't help but wonder if their suspension was slightly damaged or strained during delivery when the shipping bolts were prematurely removed, and thus not performing as well as it should.

Well, I used the W?D today and really think I am going to love it. There are a few other problems with the install. (And these guys are trained by LG to install these products.)
The dryer was hooked up to vent with a telescoping vent extension. They did not connect the vent to the dryer properly. They just used the metallic tape to bridge the gap between the dryer and the telescopic vent. There was about a 3 inch gap and I did not know this until I noticed it getting hot in my laundry room. I never had that problem before, so I investigated and lo and behold, the metallic tape was coming off and there was no connection between the dryer and the vent.
They also did not have the drain hose locked into the holder on the back of the washer, as it is missing, so the plastic washer drain hose was laying right up against the dryer vent. Good way to melt the thing. It is not possible for me to be here tomorrow as I have an appointment to take my son to a college visitation, but my DH will be here. I am going to leave him with a list of things to check on install and have him make sure they attempt to fill and use the washer too. I tried to watch things carefully today, but I couldn't be behind the dryer with them.
