So? How did it go?

Was your turkey perfectly golden brown? Was the pumpkin pie scrumptious? Did your guests behave themselves? Any funny stories? Do tell!

I used a Reynolds Cooking Bag and our turkey breast turned out perfectly golden brown and juicy. Really, everything turned out well. The make-ahead mashed potatoes (thanks again, Redbazel!) were a super time-saver and we had slices of pie later on after dinner while we played Scrabble. It was a wonderful day!

It was great, thanks for asking. I also use a Reynolds bag, instead of precooking it on Wed as I first thought I would do, and it looked great and was moist & tasty.

I bought 2 cooking magazines to use as stocking stuffers this Xmas. I used both for recipes for the meal! I was very careful and didn't spill or wrinkle them before sticking them back in the Xmas gift box.

The highlight was skyping with my sister & her family in Europe. My 2 yo niece said later "I wanted to talk to Jean but she was busy looking for things on the computer". No, no, no! I was busy preparing food for the 11 people standing in my kitchen that's why I didn't get much face time! I'll have to skype with them again today while it's nice and quiet here.

For the first time in years, I ended up with a seat at the main dining room table and not the auxiliary table. Actually I prefer the auxiliary table but 4 guests, some newbies, sat down first (I don't do a seating chart - it's always a free for all). I think they thought of it as the kid's table and wanted relive their youth.

Hi Westy, hi Brenda- I am in a pinch for time today, but I will tell you where I got my ingredients really quick so you can get started! Bark Fines- Just plain ol� Repti bark from Petco. I had to get the smaller bag because they were sold out of the larger ones. There has been talk that they may be using different sized bark partials in the two size bags, but I only have experience with the smaller bag. Granite- De Young�s Farm & Garden (Right next door to Molbaks in Woodenville). This was the only place I could find the exact size granite I was looking for. Turface- Ewing Irrigation. I picked up mine in Auburn. They also have locations in Burlington, Pasco, Everett, Redmond, Tacoma and Tumwater/Olympia. (You can search locations at their web site- www.ewing1.com) Seeing how we are coming up on baseball season they will be sure to have it in stock. *In a pinch I have been told you can use Floor Dry #8822 from Napa (the automotive store), but I have not tried it yet. Excellent replies from both of you. What I did to mix was just drop 4 tsp of MaxiGrow directly to my DWC filled with water from the tap. I mixed it up with a rather large spoon until it looked like no solute was left undissolved (but I easily could have been mistaken). I tested the pH after about 5 minutes and it was roughly 6.5, perfectly where I wanted it. Next day I came outside and like-say there were all kinds of precipitate on the bottom of the tub, like you said Grizz it was probably from some simple displacement/precipitation reactions, which I assume occurred for two reasons: A.) Common ions such as Ca2+, K+, Na+, Cl-, PO42-, etc. already in the tap water B.) The reacting ions in the water caused the pH to increase, because some of the reactions may have utilized hydrogen ions. When the ions precipitated, due to Le Chatleur's principle, the reactions continued occurring. So basically here are my thoughts. 1.) When doing reservoir changes I could remedy the alkaline water with lots of pH down before I mix nutrients in, that way the buffers in the pH down could prevent the chronic pH swing upwards overnight and into the next day. 2.) Mix the nutrients in very hot water before adding to my DWC, because there is still the possibility that the nutrients were just simply not dissolved completely. P.S. There are currently 4 netty cups with a couple cucumber plants in each. They're just putting out their second set of leaves.

I would call them. I didn't have my liners replaced because I also had another problem. They decided it was better to replace the entire oven at that point. If the liner is the only issue you have, I am told it is a simple repair. I am told that is all that is usually needed. I am assured my experience with the ovens is a fluke, but I have dealt with Wolf service several times now and they have been great. Don't worry about it like I did -- just get it taken care of and be glad you got a Wolf.

Tile Transfers Wallmonkeys Peel and Stick Wall Decals

Has anyone used ceramic tile transfers, or Wallmonkeys tile decals? The ceramic tile that I used as a backsplash (4x4 white tile with a black tile runner at the bottom) is very plain, and I would like to dress (mosaic) it up. If so, how did it go putting them on, and taking off, and how long did they last? Thanks so much.

Our bird turned out picture perfect. Golden brown and juicy. I didn't use a bag, just my usual work...wash & dry well, stuff pats of butter under the breast skin, & salt the inside cavity with kosher salt. (And throw a cube of butter in too). I don't stuff the bird.

I just covered with foil for the 1st hour or so and basted frequently.

All was perfect except for when I spilled pan drippings on the bottom of the stove and chased everyone out of the house with the copious amounts of smoke billowing from the stove. A few fans and open doors and by the time the bird was done resting on the counter, the air was clear and we all ate till WE were stuffed.
