My dad is turning 70 in a few weeks. My sister & I decided to throw him a small family birthday party with his 2 brothers & their families -about 25 adults & kids. We're kinda stumped as to what meal to serve. My dad has Crohn's disease and is on various meds for other ailments that effect what he has a taste for or can eat from day to day. So the menu is not being totally planned around him, but we would like it to be something he might like. He's really a meat & potatoes guy - no casseroles! His brothers are pretty much the same.

We'd like to keep it relatively simple, and I guess I'm just asking for some suggestions to get us rolling. We'd like it to be something fun, but not corny. So far we've only come up with Barbeque & sides as an idea, but that's so common around here. We've never done anything like this, but we wanted to make this one special as his health is declining. Thank you for any input.
