I have the same counters as you and, while it's hard to give an opinion of which color when we can't see all of the elements (cabinets, counters, floor, etc), I would say to be careful going too blue because it may look "off" with your counters if it is not exactly the right shade due to the blue undertones in the veining of the counter.

Monorail Silver

I'd go with the silver, grayer, lighter one. It's going to look a lot darker once you get it on all the walls.

Have you painted the samples on boards that you can move around the room to see how the look in different lighting situations? They will look different all over the room.

Depends entirely on the look you want.

My personal preference would be the Blue Heron, given you have a lot of natural light, but be aware if you have a lot of wall space that paint color reflects on itself and the effect of a lot of color is to intensify the color (and I most likely have the technical terms wrong). If you're going to do all light furniture in the great room, and you have white cabinetry in the kitchen, the Blue Heron would be really pretty.
(also note that in the top picture the outlet covers are that creamy color and they are horrid. Either remember to paint the outlet covers or use ones the color of your trim.)

Thanks. Here is the other side of the room - the family room side. The furniture is going to change . Right now it's green which I don't want.

Should I go lighter?

Here's the kitchen so far. There's a lot of wall to cover because the ceilings are high on the family room side.

I'm really liking lighter colors right now and think that with all that white, you don't want a lot of contrast. I'd go with your lighter choice for sure especially now that I see your space. In fact, I'd go even lighter...

Of the two, I like the Monorail Silver better. I don't know what the greenish sample is in the first picture, but the Mon. silver looks better with that, and makes me think it would be more flexible for other color accents in the room

I don't know which is which, but of the two in the first picture, I like the top one. It looks very much like the paint we used in our bathrooms, which is beautiful (but no natural light in there, so just because it worked for me doesn't mean it will work for you!).

Now that you posted pics of your space, I'm thinking lighter. The blue heron is going to give you about the same degree of contrast, I think, as the green you have now. I'd look at a lighter color. Again, it depends a bit on what furniture you're deciding on, and what you'll be putting on the floor.

Hang on. What are you doing for backsplash and where IS the wall space in the straight-on kitchen picture, which you want to paint? I'm picturing all backsplash, and it looks like the kitchen is off in a corner, which changes the question a little (and takes the kitchen picture out of the equation).

Lovely kitchen and home! You have the dark island, counter tops and floors which ground the space. Go light, definitely with your backsplash. Key question to me is, what will be seen, from where? If kitchen is off separate, then it will matter less what color you select in adjacent room(s).

We used BM Aura Vancouver Day in the pantry and breakfast area (a grey blue). This did not work with our creamy white cabinets/Torquay quartz/Cherry islands (too blue and the wrong one). BM Aura Shimmer blends nicely. (A white with presence, do like it).
