Have an interview for a job tomorrow at 10 a.m.

I think I'm an excellent fit for the position, I have almost all of what they want experience wise, and I know I could do a good job at it.

It's with my company, in the same group, so that should also play a positive role given that I'm losing coverage on my old job in 5 weeks.

So, please keep your fingers, and anything else, crossed for me!

Well this was a cutting that a very generous person gave me, and it started growing what looked to be horns! So I just had to do something with it because it looked so animated. Or..perhaps this is a result of being grounded to my room (got bored), CHENA!! It's all her fault lol (by the way I ordered more brugs while I was in there). karyn, omg that's too funny. I can just see it now- diaper bags full of cuttings...rotfl...Gee what can I put cuttings in my kids are school age and teenage. How about thier backpacks...lunchboxes...I can always just invite my mother- she carries a HUMONGOUS purse LOL!

Wow. We had sashimi and sushi rice yesterday and actually couldn't finish the fish so I was nervous to eat it raw today and instead turned it into a, whachacall it, frittata of sorts -- caramelized some onions and then cooked the fish a little bit in it and added egg and baked it. It was actually good, to my surprise. I was unsure at first, but it was well-dispatched. As was the pasta-meatballs combo I actually got it together to make this afternoon. Usually I start dinner at 8pm. There's a notable absence of anything raw on this menu but I did shut off the sauce immediately upon adding the kale so it's almost raw.... the salad just didn't get made today. Re: stains It was not clear from your phrasing if the stains came as a result of cooking the pancakes or if the plancha had stains out of the box that just seem unremovable after cooking on them. As I noted above, the first time I used my plancha/griddle, I ran it too hot and got some pretty good burned butter stains. I was able to remove those stains by applying undiluted Dawn dish detergent and scrubbing with a dampened blue ScotchBrite ((non-stick suitable scrubbie) Took a bit of elbow grease but that cleaned off all the stains. There seems to be a Demeyere Non-Abrasive Cleaner and Stainless Steel Polish. User reviews seem very positive about it doing a good job with burned-on oily stains. A google search showed it to be available from the likes of Amazon, BB&B, etc. Also did some checking on using my old stand-by, Bar Keeper's Friend (BKF). The Demeyere instruction booklet does advise against using "abrasive cleansers" but that seems to be about harsh scrubbing with the likes of Comet and Ajax. A google search on BKF + Silvinox turned up recommendations for making a wet paste of BKF and water. Daub it over the stains rather than scrubbing. Let the wet paste sit for an hour or so letting the Oxalic acid do its thing. Then, wash it off or scrub with non-stick-suitable cloth, sponge, etc. OTOH, if the plancha came with the stains out of the box, it can be returned or swapped for a replacement. My shipment even came with a return label in the box in case I wanted to return it. Also, replacement of marred units was discussed in the Chowhound thread. They recommended calling "Susan" at the Zwilling warehouse at 800-777-4308 about returns and replacements.

I looked at some recipes for baked eggplant rounds and combined a few of them to come up with this composite recipe, which I made yesterday: Baked Eggplant 2 pounds small to medium-size eggplant 1/2 tsp salt 1 egg 1 tsp water 3/4 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese 3/4 cup plain Panko breadcrumbs (use Rice Chex crumbs for a gluten-free option) 2 teaspoons dried Italian Seasoning 1 tsp garlic powder (optional) 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper Olive oil, for baking sheets Marinara sauce 4 oz. Sliced Provolone cheese Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Thoroughly coat a baking sheet with oil. Set aside. (You may need to use two sheets.) Peel the eggplant, at least partially, and slice into 1/2” thick rounds. Add salt to both sides of each slice and put in a colander to drain for 30 minutes and then pat dry with paper towels. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the egg and 1 teaspoon water. In another bowl (a pie plate works well), combine the Panko, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, garlic powder (if using) and pepper. Dip the eggplant slices in the egg mixture, letting the excess drip off. Dredge the dipped slices in the Parmesan mixture, pushing down gently to coat well. Transfer the coated slices to the baking sheet. Bake until golden brown on the bottom, 20 minutes. Flip the slices and continue baking until lightly browned on other side but still slightly firm, about 10 minutes more. Remove from the oven (can be served as is) and spoon a small amount of marina sauce on each round. Top with thin slices of Provolone and return to the oven for 5 more minutes, or until the cheese has melted. Remove from oven and turn oven off. Serve a few at a time, and return the rest to the turned-off oven to keep warm.

Sorry I've not gotten back sooner!

I had the interview, and while I don't want to seem as if I'm getting myself worked up one way or another, I think it went fairly well.

I met with two of the team members for about a half hour. I think I answered their questions well.

Then they left and the top manager for the group came in and we talked for a little bit.

On the way out I was walking with the HR person, and I offhandedly said that I really hoped that I made a good impression, and he replied that from what the first two told him, they were impressed with me.

I think it also bodes well that the top manager for the group came in. If I had been marginal to a zero candidate, I doubt I would have met him at all.

Now comes the waiting game to see if I actually got it or not.

Sounds as if it went very well. I know that my staff only called me into talk to a candidate if they felt the candidate was on the short list.

I've had an on-going discussion with the recruiter for this position.

I e-mailed her that I hoped that I'd made a good impression, and I got this response:

"Yes, I think it went very well. We may be moving forward on an offer. I will keep you posted!"

May? MAY? Sigh. I guess that's the best I can hope for on a weekend. :-/

"May" is good....it's not "won't be" surely she could not say "are" ...not her place.

It's Easter weekend, they interviewed you on Good Friday. You are right they they are not focused on this interview until tomorrow.

I just know this will work out.

Michael, I understand your concern. The word, "may" sounds a little unnerving. "However," is another word I dread.
But have a little faith. Your experience won't be overlooked.

However, if all else fails, you might look into Oprah's family tree. Seems everybody is related to her these days. Ka-ching!
