on CNN last night with Anderson Cooper. I can't understand why people think she is funny, she is loud and rude. She kept interrupting AC with her stupid jokes. I had to change channels, I just could stand listening to her.

I don't know if I don't have a "funny bone", but I just can't see why people think she is funny.

I didn't see her last night, but I remember when she reported from the red carpet at the Oscars a year or so ago. I thought she was very rude and if what she did was comedy, I just didn't get it.

Ditto...but, when the alternative is Carson Daily(sp?)???, and I do love AC...I just tried to tune her out.

Isn't it a shame that many of us, myself included, will selflessly end a suffering pet's life peaceably, held tightly in our loving arms but we feel ashamed to wish someone who is suffering horribly to pass away peacefully while they sleep? Sometimes I think when people try to get someone ... or something in the case of pets ... to hang on despite all their pain, they are doing it more for themselves than for the one suffering. I don't think you should feel guilty at all. To me it is selfless to hope for a quick end to someone else's pain and suffering by God's gentle hand. I am so sorry to hear that he suffered so but it is wonderful to know that he was so loved and admired by his family. You, your husband and the rest of the family will be in my thoughts and prayers. Wow, Nicole, that bed is a work of art! Contest with your hubby?! No way LOL. You already won! :-) And good that you're putting those welders to such good use! CalamityJ, I have trouble believing there's anything that you can't do at your house from what I've seen of your talent :-) Thanks Karen, I agree with you about Nicole's bed being very high end. SusieRose, if you could ever find an attactive huge container on Freecycle, that would be the way to go with bamboo. There are so many interesting varieties, but it takes over if you don't plant it in its own "island". Really spreads and is hard to get rid of if you decide to dig it up. Trust me on this one! Ugh, I'll never plant it in a mixed garden again! Unless you've got an area just for bamboo, I'd go with a very large container. You might run an an in the Wanted section of Craigslist too maybe. Someone might have some to give you, or barter for a totem maybe :-) DD, my next marriage is gonna be to a carpenter LOL, but a welder with a rig might qualify LOL. Just kiddin' of course. Luckygal, you'll have to share pics with us when your hubby gets around to your welding wish list. I've known lots of northern hillbillies ..... western ones too! LOL When I first got to southern Calif I thought it would be all cool and groovy people, this was the '70's. The first person I saw when we reached the beach and got out of the car was some redneck with his ciggarette pack rolled up in his white tee shirt sleeve! LOL Of course he probably came from somewhere around here lol .... Stoney, I love your natural trellis! I bet it was fun to make! I'm not familiar with bittersweet vines either, but I love how your trellis looks. Vickie, I agree about the movement in Stoney's natural trellis too. So free flowing .... And Clarejoe .... I love the bean trellis you've made! How smart and it looks great too! Very good way to reuse an old two seater frame! I like how it looks "older" too. Adds character. Just for the record, it doesn't have to be a hillbilly trellis, y'all LOL. I love all the trellises. Just thought that one I rigged up on my deck in 2006 was a bit ummmmmm "freestyle" for my historic neighborhood. Maybe they think I'm into witchcraft too LOL (for the newbies, when we did the Junk Train and it came to my house, my son-in-law from Mexico originally, thought I was into some kind of witchcraft hahahahahah) Is that a wart on the end of my nose?! I watched both of them and i wanted to slap some sense into the parents of the gal that was in the beauty pagents.She was dumber than rocks. The second one made me cry,it brought back sooo many memories for me.I kinda lived that life all through high school.My mom died when i was 9,and when i was 13 i was sent to live with an aunt and uncle.The aunt treated me like that,uncle was always at work.I had to care for her 2 kids,and my grandfather(he had had a stroke),clean house,cook,laundry,and i mean with a ringer washer and hanging them out to dry.Plus going to the spring everyday to get water. I used to get migrains,and had very bad stomach aches.I toughed it out so i could graduate high school,which i did.After i graduated the wicked witch of the east,wouldn't let me go job hunting.Wanted me to stay home and take care of Grandad,her kids,the house etc.We got into a big fight,and i was able to call an older sister in another state,and she came and got me out of there,and took me to live with her.It was like going from hell to heaven!! Years later i ran into my cousins at a family reunion(the WW'S kids,i cared for) and the boy told me that he always thought i was his mom,and how sad he was when i left.Made me cry.As he got older he realized i was his cousin. Sorry,didn't mean to get carried away,that show just stirred up buried memories for me.I didn't think there was still people out there like that.It happened to me in the 50's. Kathi

I watch it Flamey. I didn't used to watch it because way before the television programme I had read all the Kathy Reichs books that the show is based on. I remember being on a waiting list to buy her first book before it was even released. Tempe in the books is older and has an ex husband and a daughter that works for the FBI. I couldn't wait for the tv show and when I watched the first episode I was so disappointed they portrayed Tempe as a much younger woman. LOL Unlike you Flamey, I preferred the books. I did start watching it again last season and the show is starting to grow on me and I enjoy watching it now. I thought the episode where Booth was shot was really good. I really like "Sweets" too and how Bones and Booth tease him. Cracks me up. LOL I am looking forward to watching it tonight. I always tape it though because I usually watch something else at that time. I think Booth will live another day. Anne

I like Kathy Griffin. For the most part I think she can be very funny and she has/is a very quick wit. She seems to work very hard. Like many entertainers she can sometimes say waaay too many stupid things but for the most part, I like her.

I agree Monica...Carson Daily??? There is someone I just do not get.

I can't handle her anymore either....too much like Joan Rivers to me. I hate loud people. I think she used to be funny....but she's bordering on obnoxious for me now. Some comedians just don't know when to chill and be quiet, she's one of them. A toned down version I could handle because she does have a quick wit and can be funny, I just can't listen to the constant running of the mouth. I recorded all the stuff last night and haven't watched it all yet....I like to have control of skipping the commercials and things I'm not interested in :O)

I think her standup routines are funny, but I don't think it works in a 1:1 situation. It's like she has a list of things she wants to say and she's determined to get through the list, interruptions and all.

So, it's not just me?

I had never seen her or even heard of her, until she and AC were on Larry King, the night before. I thought they were a couple, which made me wonder. I didn't see any thing about her that was appealing. Then last night I thought she was completely obnoxious. Sometimes AC seemed embarrassed. I flipped channels several times.

Glad to know others feel the same way.

If I remember correctly she won some kind of award and said something to the effect that Jesus had nothing to do with it. So many actors always thank God for their success and she made it pretty clear there was no reason to give credit there. It was unneccesary and tacky.

She's been around forever! I think her stand up is really funny and have watched her many times, BUT I don't usually like to watch her in an interview. Most comedians are obnoxious during interviews. She's just louder than most. She was on Bonnie Hunt's show yesterday and was actually pretty good. Bonnie is sooo clever and funny she was able to stand up against KG and it was a good balance.

There are a lot of male comedians that are much crasser than her, I think she's being judged a little harshly because she's a woman. Her whole "thing" is about being the obnoxious, nosy wanna be. That's her thing. Getting into "celebrity" events and then, as an "outsider", observing what goes on (her take of Brooke Shields' wedding was hilarious). She's like the girl that wanted to be invited to the cool parties in high school but never was, and when she finds herself among the "cool" people she's tongue tied, but likes to dish about them later.

I like Kathy Griffin in her Bravo TV show "My life on the D list". I loved watching the interaction between her and her parents. Her mom is a sweetie. Behind Kathy's tough exterior is quite a humanitarian. She helps numerous people/organizations and continually visits the troops in Iraq. It's not for show, it's obvious it comes from her heart.

She mentioned she was banned from The View last year after a joke she made to Barbara Walters back stage.

I think the trashiest female comedian is Lisa Lampenelli, everyone is fair game with her.

Yhank you, Vannie....that was the quote I was trying to remember. I could tolerate her and her "routine" untill she said that. Makes me wonder what she will say when she comes face to face with Him, that is IF she does! She is too mean spirited and crass for me. Dottie

Yes, I thought she was obnoxious and uninteresting. Not enjoyable to listen to at all.
